ALL RISE

Last night Mayor Jim Ireton met with the Camden Neighborhood Association to discuss the Safe Streets program. Folks, I have to tell you, after listening to the Mayor explain the program in detail, anyone stating it's not a great program is nuts.

My hat is tipped to those who put this program together. Considering the Slumlords weren't present, there was absolutely no disruption and Jim was able to explain it from beginning to end.

All to often, (even I'm guilty of such) we sit on the outside and criticize the intent of such projects. We get comments that come in and completely change the scope of the original Post and the next thing we know, who knows who is telling the truth.

My hope is as follows. I want to ask the Mayor if he'd be willing to sit down for an interview referencing this matter and explain to the public just what it's all about. With any luck he'll agree and everyone can become better informed.

What? Kris Adams....the queen of dumps did not show up???? No Lousie Smith.....Oh they were at the slumlords meetings.....

Louise Smith wants to bring everyone to the table...or so she says. Well the table was overflowing with all the stakeholders at Campbell and Cohens meeting yet no Louise Smith. How many times does she want these people to come to the table before she gets off her duff and does what she was elected to do instead of what her handlers tell her to do? Oh, that's right, Lyin Louise only does as she is told to do. Without Comegys there to tell her and Shields how to vote nothing will be accomplished in the city.

Hey Louise, APRIL IS COMING!!!

I think there are problems with the package, but nothing that can't be worked out -- if Louise Smith would ever let the council talk about it and work on it!

Don't just sit there folks, call 410-860-1717 and tell Louise Smith to do her job.

I live in the west end of the county so she'll blow me off, but for my friends inside the squalor, please call!

Just ask her to set a date for council to talk about it. I want to hear what they have to say!

Mayor Ireton said that he would attack crime, the crime that's put a stain on Salisbury. So far nobody else has come up with ONE idea other than putting more police on the street. That can't solve the problem.
This package NEEDS to be put before the public by way of the council, no ifs, ands or buts.
Smith needs to come off her high horse and get with the program.

I would like to know who allowed them to have a meeting in the Church Sanctuary? There are other rooms at Bethany for this! This is totally wrong and shows a total disrespect for the sanctuary.

Camden association should only be meeting in the fellowship hall and not in the sanctuary!

There are places for meetings, and the sanctuary isn't one of them!
This is Gods room and is to be respected! I hope something is said about this! Very arrogant of him to hold a meeting there!

All the other rooms were being used by Drunks And Drugs Anonymous as well as Illegals Learning English groups.

Camden normally meets in the fellowship hall.

The Church bumped them into the sanctuary. It was the Church's decision. Got a complaint with that, call the Church.

I'm not even a member of Camden, but I know lots of folks there and at the Church.

My Church has had community meetings in the sanctuary, too. God believes in community however it comes together.

I can't believe people are outraged by holding a community meeting about crime in a sanctuary, as if God wouldn't like us to figure out how to keep people from getting killed or living in horrible conditions.

Yeah, seeking to better yourself or overcome adversity needs to be punished. Keep it classy, guys.
