Dear Shelley Fisher,
I am writing to you today concerning the performance of our teachers in Wicomico County. I would like to know how many teachers in the last 12 months have been dismissed for failing their evaluations (or for just being bad teachers). I would also like to know the same thing for the last 5 years and 10 years. In addition, I would like to know how many teachers in total Wicomico County employed in the last ten years. I am trying to achieve an accurate percentage of good/bad teachers employed in this county and your immediate response is greatly appreciated.

Good luck with that, Mr. Harris! I bet that they will claim it's a personnel matter and clam up. I would like to know what you found out, though, good, bad, or ugly.
There are also a few cases (that I know of), of bad teachers being protected not only by the Teachers' Union, but also by Principals and fellow teachers. By bad, I am talking about grammar, attitude, appearance, ability, and self control.
I would like to know how many students dropped out for being bad students or kicked out for violent behaviors.
Seems like Mr. Harris is another person trying to blame the teachers and not making parents accountable for their child's behavior or unwillingness to want an education.

I recently heard about a teacher who has visitors in class, uses her cell phone during class and uses curse words on her cell phone while in class. what a bunch of winners we have in the education system.
Probably none. Only if they fail the teachers exam do they get rid of them. Then if they're related to certain people they are given other jobs in the system.

My wife works with some teachers in Somerset County that have NO BUSINESS teaching because they simply don not know what they are doing. They need to be fired but it will never happen. When a teacher can't teach they move them into an administration position. Scary isn't it.

Even if you were given the numbers you are looking for they would be inaccurate. A good administrator gets rid of their bad teachers much faster then waiting to go through the process of multiple evaluations - they have ways of impressing their point and having teachers give notice mid year. I have seen it done many times. Complaints about teachers need to be specific not hearsay. They should be made in a timely fashion and to the correct administrators.
