Want Rain? It's On The Way

The Washington region still has a rain deficit for September, but that could change quickly by noon tomorrow.

The region could receive a month's worth of rain -- or more -- in a 24-hour period starting Wednesday afternoon, according to NBC4 meteorologist Tom Kierein.

Light rain could start Wednesday afternoon, but could become heavy at times later in the evening, especially after midnight. Heavy downpours are possible after midnight and through noon Thursday.

And there could be flooding.
