State Police Probe Selbyville Home Invasion

Selbyville-Sunday September 19, 2010 Delaware State Police investigated a home invasion on the 35000 block of S. Sea Gull Road in the Swann Estates development Selbyville Delaware. 
The home invasion began around 8:55 p.m. when a 72 year old Selbyville man heard his doorbell ring.  The victim went to his front door and observed a white male wearing a black jacket, white t-shirt, grey sweatpants and white sneakers.  The victim was told by the suspect that he had been pushing his car which was out of gas and needed his assistance. 
The victim told the suspect he did not have any gas however he would allow the suspect to use the telephone.  The victim returned with his house phone opened the door at which time the suspect displayed a handgun.  A struggle ensued with the victim and suspect which resulted in the victim falling to the ground.  The suspect again pointed his firearm at the victim and demanded money and prescription medication. 
The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of money and prescription medication and fled the residence.  The victim did not require medical attention. 
Delaware State Police is seeking the public’s assistance in solving this home invasion.  Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop 4.  Callers may remain anonymous.
