Louise Smith Needs To Cut The Crap

OK forgive me, folks. Even as busy as I am with everything I’m covering, and you know I’m busy doing what I do for you, I can’t get over Louise Smith’s unbelievable bull at Monday night’s Salisbury City Council meeting.

Let me explain just why this bothers me so much.

Louise, and Shanie Shields too, went on and on at that meeting about how they were left out of writing the crime legislation Mayor Jim Ireton proposed, how it was just two council members (Debbie Campbell and Terry Cohen), the mayor, two attorneys and some staff. That’s what she said.

You know what, Louise? Tough!!!

I worked on your Doverdale and Church Street Cleanups. Remember those, called “President Smith’s Cleanup Campaign”? Don’t get me wrong. I at first thought it was a nice thing to do, so I even pitched in personally, carried garbage for you and gave it coverage.

But you put out a general invitation for everyone to join you in picking up trash, much like Jim Ireton’s invitation for anyone – ANYONE! – interested to join the Crime Task Force. (That means SAPOA, Stu Leer, ANYONE.) Did you join? NO! You and Shanie Shields ganged up with the Daily Times to put Terry Cohen down for joining, as if what she did was a CRIME!

What I want to know, Louise, is did you PERSONALLY INVITE any other council members, especially Debbie Campbell or Terry Cohen, to join you in the PLANNING of those cleanups? No, you did not, as far as I know. AND you got TOTAL support for those cleanups from Barrie Tilghman AND Jim Ireton.

How much did those cleanups (in which you gave up on them, I might add) cost the city taxpayers (like me) to do? I’d like to know the price tag on that whole FAILED campaign since you want to talk about the price tag on writing six or seven pieces of legislation.

How about that contract for the Bricks project you signed, Louise? Did you let the council know you were signing it when you didn’t even have them vote to move the project forward? Well, we certainly know TWO council members you didn’t tell, don’t we, Louise? What’s the price tag on that, Louise? Nearly $2 million in state tax dollars, Louise.

That double-digit tax increase you and Shanie Shields supported your first year on council was “crafted,” “drafted” or “whatever” by Gary Comegys in private with the help of Finance Director Pam Oland. Did you and Shanie know that was going on? You didn’t invite Debbie Campbell or Terry Cohen to join in, did you, Louise? Oh, that’s right, you rejected every compromise they offered! If I recall, you praised Gary to the ceiling for his hard work on that double-digit tax increase budget.

So, cut the “I’m so disrespected” crap, Louise, you and Shanie both. You’re just mad because someone other than you or your allies is doing something good for Salisbury and YOU CAN’T STAND seeing anyone else get credit for that. It’s just that plain and simple. You would rather lick your ego wounds in public and play victim than do what’s good for the city. Your whining is just plain hypocritical, just see my examples above.

If you were ANY kind of decent leader, Louise Smith, you’d give credit where credit is due, no matter who it is, as I have often done for you. But you don’t and you won’t. Heaven forbid you should share the spotlight with Debbie or Terry EVER when all they’re trying to do is find ways to keep people safe. Jim Ireton may not have invited you to this party, but as I said he supported “your” cleanups all the way. And here you can’t even give his crime legislation the time of day, in which it is your job to do!

So I’m here to say, CUT THE CRAP, Louise Smith, and DO YOUR JOB!

And P.S.: YOU’VE BEEN BLOGGED!

For the third time in two days, man her Ego must be completely black and blue.

Smith is ignorant , defined as lacking in knowledge , unlearned ,unintelligent person. She gets mad when confronted with anything she knows nothing about , typical manic-depressive expressions.
Shanie , well to put it in a nut shell , she's just plain a$$ stupid , don't know any other word for her.

I have to add a thing or two. They both should seek mental help , neither can make a decision on their own , they are typical followers , certainly not leaders.
A good leader will analyze all comments and balance the situation for the good of the people. They are so jealous of the two good ladies that they don't consider any comment that they make. This is a sign of ignorance and typical of mentally ill people. By the way , I will mention that shanie needs to push her butt away from the table. That's just's a sign of
illness too. So , having said this , if you want these type of leaders , then you guys are in need of help also.

Louise and Shanie would rather cry about the landlord legislation than praise the tenants bill of rights offered to the renters they claim to protect. Shanie wants to protect the drug dealers in her district from being displaced. Shanie is right, every mother loves their son, but she is wrong if she believes every mother will protect their gang banging, drug dealing off spring. Not everyone will knowingly harbor a criminal. Their argument is about the landlords having to bring their properties up to code, not about the tenants having safe housing.

I like the good old days when they didn't have the minority district. God knows every one of them pulls the race card at every opportunity. How about facing the facts? Quit having children out of wedlock and at a young age, and break the cycle of poverty. Word!

I could just kick myself for having been hoodwinked by Louise Smith in 2007. And no, it's no consolation that I wasn't alone.

April 2011 can't come fast enough.

Good job calling Louise Smith out on her hypocrisy and ego.

She duped many here to get in.

Pride goeth before a fall, Louise. I hope the voters hold you "accountable" in a big way.

Yeah and those cleanups were a colossal waste of time on her part. The very next day there was busted 40 bottles and other crap back in the gutters and streets.Neither of them care about these neighborhoods.

Have you noticed when either of them initiates anything it is "a good thing" when Louise and Shanie support something or attend something in the community it is a "good thing". When someone else takes a step and they "don't jump on board or join it's "descrimination or a bad thing" I agree can't wait for April tired of two that do all the work, two that don't and one that attends only when Louise or Shanie wants something passed!!!!!!!!!!

Well April is around the corner and it is about time we start talking about some good candidates for office. God help us so we don't make a third mistake.

For April: Re-elect Terry Cohen, Elect Tim Spies, Elect Tim Chaney

6:34, I agree with your first two, but the Chaney guy is only able to run for Shanie Shields seat. She's not up in April (too bad).

Need a clean sweep in the spring!!!

Hypocrisy, yes. And I had forgotten about those clean ups.
