Magazine Scam Working Neighborhoods Report

To all –

Last week an e-mail was sent out from WNC member Shelton Lankford, President of Pemberton Ponds HOA regarding two young men supposedly selling magazines for the troops overseas. They told him they lived in his neighborhood but when asked where they lived, they gave him an incorrect house number and when asked for identification he said he had just lost his drivers license. Because of Shelton’s intuitive checking and finding on line that is was a scam going on across the county to get your bank account numbers and routing numbers from your checks to wipe out your checking accounts the Wicomico Neighborhood Congress was able to send out an e-mail alert which resulted in we’re happy to report, this crew being caught and put out of business. Congratulations to all on forwarding this important information enabling our Wicomico County Sherriff’s Department to make the arrest and head off their destructive mission.

Thank you to our neighborhood leaders for forwarding this information to their neighbors and to our Wicomico County Sherriff’s department for catching the bad guys.

The Wicomico Neighborhood Congress RULES!!!

Great job everyone!!!
