Why Are Americans Such Babies About Going Green?

When it comes to green technologies, America has historically been a launching point for plenty of environmentally-friendly innovations -- the compact fluorescent bulb, wind turbines, lithium ion batteries -- only to eventually come up short and pass the buck onto other countries when it comes to implementation. So why are we so bad at going green?

Because "Green" is actually red.
The modern environmental movement has its roots deep in communism.
People can go "green" all they want, but don't try to force it on me!

americans are "hopeful romantics". unfortunately, humans in general dont seem to grasp the accuracy of planning for the future. so someone says, "go green and save the planet!" we believe them because it sounds good.
hell, look how many time we've changed the food pyramid in the last 40 years. i believe there have been at least 6 changes to it. the newest change offers you a graph based on height, weight, etc...

Because it's driven by global warming which has been proven to be a scam .

This country has been going green for 40+ years and in my profession, forestry, for over 100 years. Compare pollution levels in almost any category since the first Earth Day in 1970 and you will see a huge improvement. Remember when the Cuyahoga would burn and Lake Erie was a butt of many jokes? Not anymore, its a first class fishery although there is still some lingering contaminants which should limit your intake of fish, but in any case it is largely cleaned up. Just one of many examples that can be cited.

Just because there is well founded doubt of man made global warming, doesn't mean people aren't conservation minded. Article is nonsense and just another example of trying to put guilt on capitalism.

Any change in climate has to do with our magnetic pole shift as documented by NASA . Which will culminate in late 2012 .

When we switch energy sources, it's because it's cheap and abundant, green energy is neither.
