CASA de Maryland Gets Political

CASA de Maryland, the organization funded by Maryland taxpayer dollars to help ILLEGAL immigrants, is venturing out into politics.  Wait a second; I thought they were already “political”.  They are, but now they will OVERTLY engage in partisan political activity.

Dubbed CASA in Action, the group sent out surveys to politicians in Montgomery and Prince George's counties and will endorse primary candidates who promote Hispanic causes.

Among the questions: Whether candidates support giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants, whether English should be the official state language, and whether office seekers would push for more funding for Hispanic nonprofits.

"It allows immigrants and low-income people in Maryland to come together and express their political priorities," said spokeswoman Eliza Leighton.

Should this preclude CASA from receiving taxpayer dollars?  NO!  They shouldn’t have been receiving tax dollars before; but this twist really changes the playing field.  While not illegal, Marylanders should ask if CASA is a responsible use of taxpayer funds.

Organizers for CASA in Action expect to make serious political headway in local and state races, citing the "enormous unrealized potential of the Latino vote."

Given that election judges cannot demand ID, or that county electoral boards cannot demand proof of citizenship beyond an individuals say-so, groups like “CASA in Action” have to make Marylanders seriously question the validity of elections.

O'Malley wants legit votes he should make an ID check an legal citizenship at the voting poles. MD is an entrenched Democratic state and a sanctuary state so don't hold your breath for anything to change.

I am sick too death about illegal immigration. If someone is here illegally, they have broken U. S. towns, county, city, state and federal laws. They should be arrested and deported back to their own country. The unemployment rate is high. Our tax dollars are given away too big business. This country has out-sourced so many American job. We spend so much money and time taking care of other countries and their people. Yet, we are in debt to China. I say round up all these illegal immigrants and their anchor babies and send them all back home. When the anchor babies turn 18 years of age, let them return to the U.S. Or Let the Arizona Law concerning illegal immigration be enacted in the State of Maryland. We have enough problems with dealing with U. S. citizens problem. But, you want to continue to debate the rights of illegal immigrants. That's B. S.

If many of them can't speak or understand English enough to want to change the official language, how do they know what is best for our state?
