Narrative: On 16 July 2010 at 8:55 AM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded and met with an employee of the Wicomico Housing Authority in reference to the vandalism of an empty apartment in the 900 block of Booth Street. The worker had discovered that three double pane windows in the apartment had been shattered. During the deputy’s investigation, the bat wielding juveniles were identified as the culprits who smashed out the windows.
The deputy located all three juveniles and charged each of them on a Juvenile Referral for the Malicious Destruction of the Property of the Housing Authority. The Juvenile Referrals will be sent to the Department of Juvenile Services for adjudication

Narrative: On 16 July 2010
at 6:11 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Wastegate Road in Parsonsburg for a reported theft of a motor vehicle that had just occurred. While on scene, deputies learned that the Salisbury Police had located the vehicle unoccupied where it had been involved in a collision on Railroad Avenue in Salisbury. Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office and Salisbury Police were able to put together a description of a woman who was seen leaving the vehicle on Railroad Avenue.

Narrative: On 16 July 2010
at 6:11 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 5000 block of Wastegate Road in Parsonsburg for a reported theft of a motor vehicle that had just occurred. While on scene, deputies learned that the Salisbury Police had located the vehicle unoccupied where it had been involved in a collision on Railroad Avenue in Salisbury. Personnel from the Sheriff’s Office and Salisbury Police were able to put together a description of a woman who was seen leaving the vehicle on Railroad Avenue.
Based on the description, investigators identified the suspect as Linda Flemmings who was located in the adjacent neighborhood. Based on further investigation, Flemmings was positively identified as the driver of the stolen van.
The investigating deputy placed Flemmings under arrest and transported her to the Central Booking Unit where she was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Flemmings on $15,000.00 bond in the Detention Center.

Narrative: On 16 July 2010 at 10:43 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported altercation occurring inside a residence in the 7400 block of Gumboro Road in Pittsville. Upon arrival, the deputies met with a female victim who advised that her boyfriend, Frederick Toomey and herself became involved in a verbal altercation that became physical. The victim stated that the altercation escalated to a physical attack by Toomey on her, which culminated in Toomey grabbing her by the neck and threatening to kill her. The investigating deputy observed signs of physical injury on the victim that corroborated her account.
Frederick Toomey was placed under arrest and transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Toomey was detained by the Commissioner in the Detention Center in lieu of $25,000.00 bond.

Narrative: On 16 July 2010 at 11:35 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle operated by Rodney Purnell at the intersection of N. Division Street and Baltimore Avenue in Salisbury. During the encounter with Purnell, the deputy discovered that Purnell was in possession of a baggie of what the deputy recognized as marijuana.
The deputy placed Purnell under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Purnell was detained by the Commissioner in the Detention Center in lieu of $10,000.00 bond.

Suspect: Duronte E. Jones, 21, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 17 July 2010 at 6:55 PM, a deputy stopped a subject riding a motor scooter in the 900 block of West Road for a traffic violation. During the stop, the deputy discovered that the scooter ridden by Duronte Jones had been reported stolen through the Ocean City Police Department.
The deputy placed Jones under arrest and transported him to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, Jones was released by the Commissioner on Personal Recognizance.
Charges: Theft over $1,000.00

Narrative: On 17 July 2010 at 10:22 PM, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported large and disorderly crowd estimated at approximately 150 plus in front of the Knights of Columbus home in the 1500 block of Emerson Avenue. It was apparent to the responding deputies that the crowd was creating a disturbance in the neighborhood.
Deputies managed to clear the crowd and encourage the mostly juvenile crowd to disperse, but many of the subjects walked in the roadway and disrupted vehicular traffic while being disorderly. When the crowd reached the end of Emerson Avenue, one of the subjects threw something at one of the deputies which ended up striking one of the patrol cars. That juvenile was detained by a deputy which caused other subjects in the crowd to increase their belligerence towards the deputies.
Deputies, with the assistance of Salisbury Police Officers and Maryland State Troopers, arrested four of the disorderly juveniles. All four of the juveniles resisted the efforts of law enforcement to taken them into custody. Most of the rest of the crowd began to run away.
The four juveniles were transported to the Sheriff’s Office and charged on a juvenile referral before being released to guardians. The juvenile referrals will be sent to the Department of Juvenile Services for Adjudication.
Charges: Disturbing the Peace, Failure to Obey, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest

What the heck is wrong with the parents off all these juveniles. They teach their children no respect for people or for themselves for that matter. Do these kids think police are kidding when they give orders?! I have a child and if mine child were to behave like this. well....! But mine wouldn't because I know how to teach my child respect!
If the punks wanted to riot, they should have gassed them and gone to the tazers and nightsticks. I'm pretty tired of these wanna-be thugs that think that their posing and posturing warrants them some kind of respect. Act like animals and get treated as such.

had a group of kids skating down the street from my house (ages 10-13). I could hear them cursing all the way down the block. Went down there and told them to stop (which they did), but was later warned by a close friend about approaching other people's children like this. While I still believe I did the right thing, it's a shame that my friend was actually correct too; parents are ready to fight you instead of disciplining their kids. What a world we live in.
I hope they were not kids from that area. If so the area has gone downhill. I grew up in that area and was never afraid to walk down Emerson Ave. even at night.
This is beyond sad. Rep. Conway lives down there... Norm, put some pressure on the SPD and Sheriff to take these dilinquints down... gas is RIGHT! It won"t kill them< just remind them to make better choices in life.
i live a couple of houses down from the knights of columbus on emerson ave and this is not the first time that thier parties have produced events that needed police response, after one party they threw we had a group of kids in front of our house that shot a gun into the air i guess numerous times, we called the police and it took them more than an hour to respond, the found the shells on the road in fornt of my house.....nothing ever came of it. now they are attacking the police...this is a great neighborhood..knights of columbus needs to watch the company they keep before something extremely tragic happens

Knights of Columbus is rented out to permissive parents for private teen parties. Then the kids get on Facebook and advertise the big party and e-vite all their friends (and friends of friends). There is even a place on Facebook to say YES, No or MAYBE "I'm attending." From there, a so called private teen party turns into a free-for-all with anybody and everybody showing up. It's not at all safe and Parents who rent out these places for their kids are just nuts! If you want to have a teen party, it needs to be well supervised - at home!
I was shocked that 2 eight year olds were running the streets without parent supervision. Who in their right mind would allow their 8 yr olds out of their sight?
I am sure you were all God and parent fearing children who obeyed your parents and NEVER got out of line, talked back, or did anything foolish or reckless...and really now, animals? cage them or shoot them? These are all parenting issues, or lack of a actual parent in general.
