On July 18, 2010 at approximately 6:55pm, officers responded to 510 Emory Court to check on the welfare. Officers were able to make entry into the apartment when no answer was received. Upon entry, the officers located two bodies, one of a black male and the other of a black female. The circumstances surrounding the deaths are suspicious at this time and both bodies have been sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, MD for an autopsy. Names are not being released pending notification of next of kin.

I know this probably will not be posted but isn't it funny that no mention of the chief of police has been uttered with 2 deaths and another shooting this morning. If Webster was still in office the cries would be, "how long is Salisbury and Jim Ireton going to put up with the chief and the crime under his watch". Seems to me Salisbury is as big a crime ridden crap hole under this chief as it was the last. What's this one done to decrease the crime rate? Oh, but he looks good in his uniform. Its a joke.
takes more then a chief police. if your judges relaxed and neighbors don't care or are involved in crimes, nothing will change.

You can bet your bottom dollar, Chief Barkley is talking to the officers on the scene and reading the reports personally. The men respect him as a leader and will do the best work they can with the resources they have. It was the city council and mayor who cut funding and everything else to the police dept. That is who you need to be calling with complaints.
No, I do not know Chief Barkley personally. No, I am not a police officer. I grew up in Salisbury, but now live in the county.
Its all a joke. These local officer's cant handle city gangs, and thats what we have now. Until the local PD learn how to handle these local gangs we will have this problem. You cant handle these gangs professional you have to just knock down doors and start busting some people up to get them to calm down.
As a resident in this complex(not the building of the deaths), it's not that the neighbors don't necessarily *care*, more like they are afraid to call or speak.
I have witnessed several crimes here, and been afraid to call for fear of reprisal. Even if the cops managed to nab the person in question, everyone has friends here.
Also, the complex itself is very nondiscreet regarding any regular tenant complaints, so there is no surprise that people are afraid to call them or the police.
I'm pretty aggravated with Rinnier Management on the whole anyway, but it's definitely not their job to police the city, that's the POLICE'S job! Maybe soon they'll start sending a patrol through here every night!

955-and maybe the snow plow will hit your street first, then maybe the mailman will stop at your complex first to drop off those "independence" cards and then maybe the ice cream truck will come first to your block...when tenants, neighbors and landlords dont give a rats ass the police have to clean up the result, after the fact and after the damage is already done.

Actually the Chief was at the scene..
the courts are just as responsible for the crime going on! Just look how many cases are put on the stet docket, or how many people are arrested for a crime then let out on their own personal recognizance. in order for it to work, the law needs to be ENFORCED!
9:55 the best advice I can give you is to MOVE! Im not being sarcastic,I am serious.I lived in a crime ridden Salisbury neighorhood and I refused to be quiet about it,I called the police all the time but it seemed nothing ever changed,so we cut our losses.Saved up money and moved to a rural area.Ironically,a teenage girl was shot on the very block we used to live on not long after we moved so I never doubt we made the right decision to leave.If you cant afford to leave Wicomico County, then at least move out of town.You may have a longer commute and may pay a little more for rent but the peace of mind is worth it.
