USSSA Eastern World Series Brings 85 Girls Softball Teams To Wicomico County

(Salisbury, MD) The United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Eastern World Series for “C” and 16U & 18U “Open” is coming to Wicomico County this week, with play beginning tonight and continuing through July 25th. Over 80 girls’ softball teams, their families, friends and coaches are making their way to the Salisbury area for a week of intense softball competition. Their stay is estimated to infuse over $2 million into the local economy through hotel stays, shopping, eating in restaurants and more.

The World Series will officially kick-off with its Tournament Ceremonies, which are slated to begin at 5:00pm on Wednesday, July 21 at Arthur W. Purdue Stadium. After being welcomed by County Councilwoman Stevie Prettyman and USSSA PA State Directors, Jeff Moose and Jeff Kittle, competing teams will parade themselves around the field before enjoying an evening of fun activities, games and entertainment.

The week is not all fun and games though; tournament competition begins tonight Monday, July 19th with 5:00pm and 6:40pm games at the Henry S. Parker Athletic Complex and Winterplace Park. Pool play continues into Tuesday with games at 8:00am, 9:40am, 11:20am and 1:00pm. After Tournament Ceremonies on Wednesday evening, the week progresses with double elimination and full days of competition starting promptly at 8am.

The USSSA Eastern World Series brings the best of the best to the Eastern Shore. Each team has a chance to walk away as a World Series Champion. On a local level, both Salisbury and Berlin will be represented in the tournament.

Great..the parents that accompany these groups are more stuck up, arrogant, and all in all ridiculous than the poodle people we get coming through here. Lord knows their little snowflakes act just as entitled as they do..stay away PLEASE!

Not sure who anonymous might be but they have no clue. Travel Ball parents are dedicated people who care about their children. At least what they call "stuck up parents" are with their children unlike some parents who neglect. I feel people that make comments like that are just plain jealous. Travel ball parents sacrifice more than you will ever know.
