Gold Buyer Ripped Off Consumers With Spring Rigged Scale

It sounds like a carnival trick, a spring secured underneath the weighing platform that would push back when items were weighed.

I wish there was a video to see the looks on their face when they were BUSTED.

I'm not really surprised by this. As the saying goes "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is". I think that saying applies here real well.

I used to work at the one in the mall here in Salisbury. Let me tell you, we are trained to rip you off. The lower amount we get your gold for, the more the company makes. It was borderline criminal what I was doing. Our usual scale for 10k was 8 to 10 dollars per pennyweight (what we measure in). I was giving 6 and corporate still wanted me to go lower. Don't go there people, you will be ripped off

Best place to sell gold(if you must), go to a coin shop. They'll pay you spot price everytime.

And lets not forget how much these types of shops encourage hoodlum thieves to rip off the honest people and sell the gold fast. Do you really think any of these places are regulated? Or do they care since they appear to be thieves anyway.

Gold buying places take down their named address and a copy of their drivers license and send a report on the gold to the police for each item. It saves their butts if it was stolen because they have no way of knowing. I do know when I worked in the mall most of my customers probably stole that gold.
