Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Press Release

On Saturday, June 27, 2010 at approximately 2:20am a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy stopped a Chevrolet Suburban on Ocean Gateway west of Holly Grove Road for a traffic violation.

The operator was identified as Lawrence Bradley 50 years of age, of Cambridge, MD. A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected and along with Bradley’s glassy eyes and slurred speech he was asked to perform standardized field sobriety test. Bradley failed the Field Sobriety Tests that he performed and was placed in custody for Driving Under the Influence and Driving without a License.

On Saturday, July 3, 2010 at approximately 1:50am a Worcester County Sheriff’s Office Deputy was following a two tone Chevrolet pick-up truck which had smoke and sparks coming from the front passenger side wheel. The Deputy attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle travelled approximately 1 mile prior to stopping.

The operator was identified as James Donald Baker 38 years of age, of Willards Md. Mr. Baker’s driving privilege was currently suspended and he had an active warrant in Wicomico County.

A strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected on Mr. Bakers breath. Mr. Baker did poorly on field tests and was arrested. Mr. Baker was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended. Mr. Baker was held on the open warrants.
