Well, we now have a very interesting race ahead of us, both in a Delegate Seat and in Wicomico County At Large Seats.
We'll start with Page Elmore's seat. The Central Committee in both Somerset & Wicomico County have 30 days to present their choice as a replacement for Page Elmore. The Governor then has 10 days to make a final decision. The BIG question is, will Caroline Elmore step in for Page until the election? This is a possibility but we'll have to see what happens in time. We fully support John Cannon for this seat.
As for the two At Large Seats in Wicomico County, expect to see TWO unbelievable candidates to step up to the plate and run as Republicans for these Seats. Bob Culver is one possible Candidate and Carl Anderton is another possibility.
These are some of the finest men I know. Bob Culver ran against Rick Pollitt for County Executive and we'd be honored to see him put his hat in the ring for County Council. He's a great businessman, (something we've been saying Wocomico County has needed for years now) and he loves Wicomico County.
As for Carl Anderton, Folks, this guy is the future of Maryland Politics! ANYONE who knows Carl Anderton knows he's an honorable man and his main interest is serving the citizens of Wicomico County. Carl currently sits on the Town of Delmar, (Maryland) Town Council. Carl was instrumental in purchasing the old Bank of Delmar Building for cash and not financing the building, because the Town had plenty of cash on hand to do so. In fact, so you know, expect the Town Of Delmar, Maryland to also take their old building and completely convert it for the new Delmar Police Department Headquarters, again, all paid for in cash. When we reached out to Carl a few months ago about the Handicap Ramp at Delmar Elementary, Carl was again instrumental in moving immediately to get Public Works out there to fix the curbs and within 5 days the job was complete. When I asked Carl if this was the BOE's responsibility or the Town's, Carl replied, it doesn't matter. We'll work that out later.
He is all about the citizens and clearly Carl has played a solid role in keeping the Town of Delmar fiscally sound, so much so they actually have millions of dollars in the Bank. This is something none of you can say your local Town has been able to accomplish. I should add, Carl was also dedicated in paving Railroad Avenue next to the Ball Fields in Delmar. If you want to see things get done, Carl Anderton is your man!
So we're excited to show our support for these three fine Gentlemen and hopefully in the very near future we'll hear the announcement that they have officially filed.

Carl is a great guy. He has done so much for Delmar. We'll miss him but we do need him on the county council. I agree with you 100% Joe.
I concur on all of the above.
Rick will run for house or senate
winds are changin
Rick might walk but he's not going to be doing to much running for anything, cept maybe a sammich. You through your support in for John Cannon what about John Phoebus who has also filed for 38A?
If Carl Anderton is anything like ole Capt. Anderton he is one fine gentleman. I don't know Carl but I knew the Captain very well from his many many visits to Johnny's and Sammy's. The man was loved and admired by many.
12:o2,,,,, too, not to; threw, not through. I know education is overrated by some here on the shore, but maybe you spent too much time in the Alpine Room when you were getting to know the Captain.
I would definitly vote for Carl...He actually does what he says he's going to do...very refreshing
Nikki
Delmar Town Commissioner Carl Anderton is rumored to be running for Wicomico County Council at large as a Republican. Carl was recently seen at the AFP meeting gathering support on the process he is thinking of. Carl is a nice guy (and I must admit I am biased, he is family :) )and has been working in the MML with Gary Comegys and would make a great representative at large.
JT stop your bs
I will probably vote for John Phoebus but its definitely going to be an interesting race~
I'm glad you posted this Joe, but I have to note that it is kinda sad that there are less than 10 comments at this time.
Why aren't people interested in GOOD representation?
Perhaps I'm out of line here, but it seems to me that a lot of people would rather leave complaining comments than offer the few high quality local politicians a word of encouragement.
blutojthetotmom - I concur. John Pheobus has my vote as well.
