GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO CONVENE ROUNDTABLE TO DISCUSS POTENTIAL IMPACT OF GULF OIL LEAK ON MARYLAND WATERS AND BUSINESSES

Governor to convene panel of experts, local business owners, environmental scientists at Ocean City bayside restaurant

ANNAPOLIS, MD
– Governor Martin O’Malley will convene a panel of state officials, environmental scientists, local business owners, and other experts to discuss the possibility of the Gulf oil leak impacting Maryland waters and businesses. The group will also discuss response capacities in the event that oil does reach Maryland waters.

The Governor will convene this roundtable discussion along the bay in Ocean City, and later will join officials from the Maryland Department of the Environment to demonstrate the laying of protective boom in the water.
