The House Vote on the Senate Healthcare Bill Is the Final Vote; Obama Will Sign It Into Law

Americans need to understand the devastating significance of the House vote on the Senate health care bill set for March 18th. The Democrats have–by design–created the perfect storm to take over the US healthcare system, while providing an ideal distraction–reconciliation.
First, let’s examine exactly how we got here. In late December, while Americans were arguing that no one had read the bill, Leiberman was posturing to vote against the bill with a public option, and the debate on abortion continued, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) took an existing HOUSE-passed bill, H.R.3950–the Service Members Home Ownership Tax Act of 2009–and here’s how it unfolded:
10/8/2009:Received in the Senate. Read the first time. Placed on Senate Legislative Calendar under Read the First Time.10/13/2009: Read the second time. Placed on Senate Legislative Calendar under General Orders. Calendar No. 175.11/19/2009: Motion to proceed to consideration of measure made in Senate. (consideration: CR S11578)11/19/2009: Cloture motion on the motion to proceed to the bill presented in Senate. (consideration: CR S11578; text: CR S11578)11/20/2009: Motion to proceed to consideration of measure considered in Senate. (consideration: CR S11826-11879, S11888-11903)11/21/2009: Motion to proceed to consideration of measure considered in Senate. (consideration: CR S11907-11967)11/21/2009: Cloture on the motion to proceed to the bill invoked in Senate by Yea-Nay Vote. 60 - 39. Record Vote Number: 353. (consideration: CR S11967; text: CR S11967)11/21/2009: Motion to proceed to consideration of measure agreed to in Senate by Unanimous Consent.11/21/2009: Measure laid before Senate by motion. (consideration: CR S11967)11/21/2009: S.AMDT.2786 Amendment SA 2786 proposed by Senator Reid. (consideration: CR S11967)In the nature of a substitute. emphasis mine
The GOP must have known what was about to happen next because they were united in voting “Nay” against this bill on November 21, 2009. Additionally, the Senate Amendment offered by Reid was none other than the Senate version of the healthcare bill.
Reid HAD to do this. Why? Because all legislation that raises taxes MUST originate in the House of Representatives and H.R. 3590 satisfies that requirement.I will repeat that, Harry Reid switched the language in H.R. 3590 and replaced it with the Senate’s version of the health care system takeover in order to satisfy the requirement for all legislation raising taxes to originate in the House. The bill summary outlines the evolution of this bill:
OFFICIAL TITLE AS INTRODUCED:To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to modify the first-time homebuyers credit in the case of members of the Armed Forces and certain other Federal employees, and for other purposes.
OFFICIAL TITLE AS AMENDED BY SENATE:An act entitled The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.
For the record, Republicans did challenge this amendment substitution, but were defeated. The simple fact that the Democrats voted on Reid’s “amendment” is appalling and demonstrates their condoning of the abuses we are seeing unfold. Democrat Senators are now willing accomplices to the destruction and socialization of the US health system.
The deceptive practices to pass a government takeover of healthcare can be summed up as the ultimate betrayal by the Democrats against the American people in order to ram through their progressive, socialistic, freedom-stripping policies.
Furthermore, the Democrats talk of “reconciliation” or the nuclear option is nothing more than a diversion from what the real goal is–to pass the Senate version through the House and then have Obama sign it into law.
And once signed into law, does anyone really think that Obama will keep his promises of the “fixes” through the reconciliation process after he got what he wanted via the Senate bill? Seriously, he will have the healthcare takeover he wants, so why make the House and Senate suffer more.
In addition, I don’t think that the House will hold the bill to work out differences between the two chambers as is being floated. While it may be an optional maneuver, the Democrats need the tax increases to take effect now so they can offset some of their rabid spending.
The House Democrats have a choice: either stand with the American people and kill the bill or endorse the deception, betrayal, and bribes of Harry Reid, Obama, Pelosi, and the Senate Democrats, in addition to the destruction of the US health system. Either way, the American people will never forget.

The thought of this makes me sick!!
Got my daughter and her friends to look at the local sex offender list and was shocked when between them they new about 20 of them. Shocked, thats so and so brother or uncle or dad. See how close they are people. Now you can call me trailer trash or what-ever you want but its simply not true. If you think they are not close to your kids and the people you love, then your in denial. Scary huh.
Seeing this health care crap everyday makes me sick, get new material please... There is nothing we can do to stop them from socializing health care what so ever, and for those who feel that their one little vote or thought says so, get a clue... Come the 18th when they pass the bill, sit and think where did all the awareness get you... Where did all the talk and tea parties get you? no where...
Be prepared to have taxes raised and quality of care go down and be prepared to get socialized... OH and not to forget, the IRS fines and or jail time you will get if you don't buy health care... even if you can't afford it now...
I disagree with 11:30. Keep posting it everyday. Keep it in front of the public. Let the public know how horrible this is and what devastating consequences it will have for us.
Maybe someone will listen....
Some of us (a LOT of us) support the health care bill.
This is a typical rant using propoganda buzzwords like "takeover" and "socialization." In reality, the majority of American's support health care reform. You all are so scared of government involvement in medicine, yet at 65 you eagerly jump into Medicare. Wealthy people don't care about this because they can afford it if they get sick. Face facts, the system as it is setup now is completely broken! We need complete overhaul. This is not government takeover and never has been.
I am fully employed and have the only plan offered to me. I have no health problems and neither does my wife.
Monthly premiums - $648
Doctor visit copay - $30
Total out of pocket for birth of healthy baby with one day hospital stay -- $1800
Visit to ENT for 1 y.o. daughter's ear infections - copay $40
Out of pocket expenses for tubes for 1 y.o. daughter - $900
Imagine if you were sick!
Bring on reform!
If we as Americans really want this thing then why whenever given the chance are the democrats getting voted out of office? It is the Healthcare issue that the campaigns were focused around. Hmmmm makes you rethink that doesn't it.
Don't you all see? They can't crash the dollar without the healthcare takeover. Does anybody really think the dollar is going to survive. If you do you are nuts!we can't sustain 14 trill now with a triple a rateing.what happens when The Us gets taken off aaa rateing? Intrest rates go sky high inflation kicks in and the dolar =20cents.Without healthcare you have complete disaster when the dollar fails. Don't you people have any common sense- can't you see this?
So many keep calling this healthcare reform "socialism".
This title was born from the Republican Party.
Question is, where was the Republican Party when the need for a fix was realized? They did NOTHING!
They had a Rep. President in office for 8 years. They did nothing! IF they had put forth a good plan, sure, the Democrats would have probably wanted changes to it but I feel we would already have a plan!
Instead, they wait for the Democrats to come up with something and they come out against it.
So don't tell me how great the Republicans are!
The Republican Party represents the WEALTHY in this country and forget everyone else!
We need a plan! Is this the right plan? I don't know, but we need something and we need it NOW!

Reform is needed, but let's diagnose and treat the entire problem:
1. Tort reform
2. Insurance company profits (my health plan cost a total of $14,000 in premiums this year, insurance company only paid $6,000 on my family's behalf)
3. Pharmaceutical company profits
After completion of 1-3, take the monies recovered by those efforts and create a national health plan. Until then, there aren't enough printing presses to generate the money needed to pay for this plan. There is a dangerous, slippery slope ahead of us here folks.
Anon 2:25 - You think dollar signs are scary, try this one: wait until people can't get diagnosed and treated for illnesses/conditions because of wait time to get into a doctor. Do some research on the term "queueing" - which basically is a math term for "waiting in line". There are incidents in Canada and other countries with government sponsored healthcare where people with need for surgery or cancer treatment are unable to be treated for 9 months or more. While your out of pocket expense hurts financially, at least you and your family were fortunate enough to receive care when you needed it.
8:52 - Amen!
I've said for a long time, the place to start is with the lawyers, the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical companies.
Until you do THAT, you're doing NOTHING!
Insurance companies are already jacking prices and there's nobody to stop them!
