To the Magnificent Seven A.K.A. the County Council. No this job is not dangerous or stressful. It is a cake walk. I would love for one of you to get out of your car at 3a.m. and walk up to a car filled with Bloods or Crips. The fleeing felon from another state. Pat them down and find a handgun in their waist band. Alone on the by-pass or up in Shartown and have to manage the situation.

The deputies asked for so much in return. A little security and a chance at life after the job. God forbid something happens to take our lives our families would be taken care of. I guess that was a tall order for you guys to fill. I am sorry I just lost all faith in our Council. There is no way to look you in the eyes and aver believe in you or what you say. You danced a major side step. Thinking all the while the truth would not come out. You made a legal issue and the legislation would have been. The ethical and just thing to do was carrect the issue in talks and compromise. Not run from it. It showed weakness and narrowminded thinking.

There is still time for all to work this out. The dirty laundry needs to dry in private. The public becomes very concerned when they see the people of the council and law enforcement at odds. No one wins in that arena.
