Things You Should Know About Budget

Washington (CNN) -- President Obama on Monday unveiled a $3.8 trillion budget for next year. Here are some key points. Remember, these are Obama's suggestions. Congress controls the purse strings.

Still a little extra in your paycheck

The Making Work Pay tax breaks would be extended for a year. These were part of last year's stimulus and resulted in slightly higher paychecks for 110 million families, the White House said.

More money for education

Obama wants $3 billion more for elementary and secondary education programs and $1.35 billion for his Race to the Top program. Pell grants, which help students pay for college, would increase by $17 billion.

Big-shovel items

The president is seeking more than $100 billion for state and local infrastructure projects and $4 billion for national and regional infrastructure work.

Glad to hear about the local and state increases Obama is seeking. Maybe we can get a Fire Department Gadget for about $1 million?

Our children and grandchildren and probably great-grandchildren will be paying these bills off for the next century. Someone has to pay, Obama. You must live in some dream-world and need to face reality. Don't spend what you don't have!!

Obama's "Pay As You Go" theory is definitely a big scam / con game. He says it means that for every dollar you spend you have to cut a dollar from the budget. This is a rob Peter to pay Paul theory or known also as shuffle the numbers to make it look good in theory to the ignorant voters. My interpretation of "Pay as you go" means you have the money availiable to pay for what you budget. If you cut Department / Agencies or eliminate projects then this was excess money that should have never been given to them because it was not needed or necessary. This is only basic economics. Politians should be required to have a degree in economics not a law degree or political science.

I hate when politicians blow their smoke and do these crazy "if you want to pay for something you have to cut something else" con games. I can't believe he is trying to pull one over on the American people by trying to reign in 9 years of reckless spending.
