Just How Dumb Are Americans?

Day after day I continue to see the Main Stream Media pouncing on Toyota with one flaw after the other and it's everywhere.

Again, I ask YOU, have YOU ever experienced any of the problems the MSM has brought forth? The answer is, NO!

However, we live in a society where our government knows the one thing that works on Americans is fear. If you fear there might be a problem, Americans run scared.

Since we were hit with two major storms I have yet to be able to plow out enough of an area to get the vehicle I'm trading in, out. Once I do, believe me, I'm heading to a Toyota Dealership and I'm buying a new vehicle.

That being said, I do not consider myself as being dumb but I am an American. You?

By the way, if the MSM actually did stories on ALL of the American made vehicles with their recalls and flaws there'd be no room for any other news.

Hate to say it, but have you heard anything about any Hondas being recalled?

I am a loyal Mazda owner, and have never had problems with them.

To 9:36 and to you joe,

I am Aaron Walker, a salesman at Pohanka Mazda and I just wanted to state to you 9:36 if you are ever in the market for a new Mazda we do have rebates for loyal customers like you. If you trade in a Mazda that is in your name you get the loyality rebate. And to you Joe, I'm glad to see that the media has not brainwashed you like many other people "staying away" from toyota. I do not even work for toyota but I am here to tell you that they are a great company. Any company that can see a mistake they have made and recall all the vehicles that have that paticular problem in the timely fashion that they did, as you would say, "I tip my hat to them." Everyone makes mistakes, they just proved that they are going to capitalize on the situation and make sure that the problem is completely fixed before they release the product again. And I hope that we can earn your business here at Pohanka when you do decide to get another toyota. Trust me, you will not be let down.
Thanks,
Aaron Walker

I've had a 4Runner for years with no problems(knock wood)and would buy another in a heartbeat if I needed one. MSM is just following orders from Government Motors (GM) trying to make their product look better. NOT

I've owned five trucks; (2) Ford F150's, Toyota T100, Dodge Dakota, and currently a Toyota Tundra; in that order.
The Ford's always needed to replace parts, the Dodge had SEVEN Recalls (did anyone hear about those), and the two Toyota's worked great and never had a single problem.

Before I bought the Tundra I test drove every truck on the market; none of the other brands came close for the value.

Toyota RULES!!

I wished they made a yotor strong enough to pull my 6ton trailer and bobcat.... I wont buy another ford and I'm certainly not going to by anything from GM {gov. motors} guess I'll just keep nursing my ole big block cheve {1986 pre gm}.... cheaper in the long run anyways

This is just because GM is failing and it's easier to bash foreign car companies. I have owned 2 Hondas and currently have a Toyota Camry.. NO PROBLEMS!! Ever!! Heck, even Toyota is the top car in Nascar races.

SO, you are saying the MSM is making this up?

Joe, I don't understand why you are so mad at MSM. Toyota messed up, they got recalled. Big flippin deal. There's nothing else to talk about in the news. It's not like our government is giving us anything good to talk about.

P.S. Glad you like your Toyotas, I will stick to my American cars.

I'm saying not ONE of you has come on here saying you had gas pedal, brake pedal or whatever issues our government claims is wrong with Toyota. So I have proven my own poing here and you have done it for me.

I have posted articles for weeks on here now about the recall and I have given hundreds of thousands of people the opportunity to say they had a problem, not one did.

So yes, absolutely. I am saying ourgoverment is filled with liars, 100%.

I own a SCION made by Toyota and love it.And my next vehicle will be a Toyota

Joe,

There are other people in the world other than those that read or post on this blog, you know. Just because no one wrote in does not mean the problems do not exist. Classic logical fallacy.

It is like saying the Moon Landing never happened and no one has ever been to outer space because no one told you they went there.

I realize the MSM has all those pesky facts and reporters out there, but you need to inhale a bit and relax.

My tacoma was recalled over a frame rust issue, but there is no rust. Toyota has offered to apply a rust coating anyway as a precaution. Not bad for a 8 yr old truck long since out of warranty. Btw it has 130,000 plus trouble free miles. Yea, I'd buy another. Maybe all this bad press will hurt Toyota sales enough that I can get a good discount on a new one?

I am in a service business and if Toyota built a truck heavy enough to replace the GMC 3500 van I currently use I would have the Toyota hands down! That's not just because of the current situation with Government Motors I have wanted that for years. They build a quality machine and US Automaker's need to take some lessons from them.

Have a Toyota 4Runner. Absolutely love it. Will buy another in about 10-12 years when this wears out-it may go longer than that. Have had no problems with it. Best vehicle I have ever owned. Am not scared off by MSM "recall" horn.

The problem is that the govt owns GM and they are failing. Mean while, Ford and foreign auto makers are thriving. If you own a widget company and the other widget manufacturers are killin you, what do you do? You try to bring the others down. That's one of the problems with the gov't taking over private industry. Yes, there have been limited issues with some toyotas. The MSM and the obama administration are building it up and trying to scare car buyers. Just like when the Auto Secretary told Americans to "immediatly stop driving yout Toyotas"! If a company makes millions of vehicles, there will be some issues. The percentage of these issues at Toyota are far fewer than what is accepted at GM before a recall is inituated. And the final, major issue is that obama is in bed with the Unions, namely the UAW. Are Toyotas made by UAW employees? no

I am currently driving my 3rd Toyota (Rav 4). My previous ones( corolla and camry) went over 200,000 miles with only routine maintenence and I only traded because I wanted a newer model..never got the tune-ups...just oil changes. No major problems ever. My whole family drives Toyotas and my daughter is still driving her family around in a 1998 Sienna mini van..says she plans to keep it until it dies. I will continue to stand by Toyota.

Joe, thanks for pointing out this vast government conspiracy.

If the MSM didn't cover the story of MILLIONS of cars being recalled by a car manufacturer, they would be accused of a coverup.

I traded in my 8 year old Buick Rendezvous which a mechanic at Bill Cannon's told me was one of the absolute worst cars he ever worked on (same as Pontiac Aztec) for a 2010 Toyota. The Government even gave me $4500 to do it. Best thing I ever did. Dumbest (at least one of the) thing the Government ever did.

I remember during the campaign that woman stating that Obama was going to give her a car. I guess he decided to give it to me instead.
