Salisbury Police Department Press Releases



On January 23, 2010 at approximately 7:20 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the three hundred (300) block of Martin Street for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival the officers met with two (2) victims of the shooting and two (2) additional witnesses. The first victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to the left side of his face and the second victim had sustained a single gunshot wound to the hand and right shoulder. The victims and witnesses advised that they had been present in the rear of the residence when three (3) suspects made entry to the residence without authorization. The three (3) suspects produced handguns and demanded that none of the suspects move. The victims resisted and the suspects fired the handguns causing the injuries. The suspects then fled from the residence on foot. The victims were transported to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. There was no property taken, and the suspects were described as:


Suspect # 1: Tall, black male, wearing all black clothing
Suspect # 2: Medium height black male, wearing all black
Clothing
Suspect #3: Medium height black male, wearing all black

On January 22, 2010 at approximately 1:45 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol and stopped a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect in the area of Dykes Road for traffic violations. The suspect was found to be driving on a suspended license and a check of the vehicle by a Wicomico Co. Sheriff’s Office K-9 led to the discovery of a quantity of suspected marijuana in a console. A smoking device containing suspected marijuana was also located.


ARRESTED: Raymond Walter Bohn, 23 years of age
Willards, Maryland
CHARGES: Possession of marijuana

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On January 22, 2010 at approximately 5:13 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on Liberty Street for the theft of a motor vehicle. The officers met with a victim who advised that the below listed suspect had taken his vehicle without permission. The suspect was known to the victim. On the same date the officers asked the Maryland State Police to check a possible destination of the suspect on Old Ocean City Road in Pittsville. The State Police checked the location and found the suspect and the stolen vehicle. The Salisbury Police responded and took the suspect into custody. The vehicle was returned to the owner. A search of the suspect, incident to arrest, revealed a quantity of suspected "crack"/cocaine on his person. In addition, the suspect was found to be driving on a suspended license.

On January 22, 2010 at approximately 5:54 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Kmart Store on Tilghman Road for the report of a shoplifter. Upon arrival the officers met with store security who advised the officers that the below listed suspect had been observed by store personnel taking clothing from the store without payment. The clothing was recovered and returned to the store.


ARRESTED: Juvenile, 13 years of age

Malicious destruction of property
DISPOSITION: Released to parent

On January 23, 2010 at approximately 1:06 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on routine patrol in the area of Marshall Street and conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle operated by the below listed suspect for traffic violations. The vehicle was checked with a K-9 from the Wicomico Co. Sheriff’s Department and the K-9 gave a positive indication for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. The vehicle was checked and the officers located a quantity of suspected marijuana and a smoking device containing suspected marijuana.

On January 23, 2010 at approximately 12:45 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to an apartment on Adams Avenue for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival the victims advised the officers that a suspect had made entry into an apartment, while the victims were in the apartment. The suspect spoke to the victims, then fled from the apartment on foot. Utilizing a description given of the suspect, the officers located the suspect on Bennett High School property and detained the suspect. The victims positively identified the suspect, who was taken into custody without incident. There was no property taken from the apartment.
