Milton Couple Arrested Following Traffic Stop

Delaware State Police Sunday January 24, 2010 arrested to Milton residences following a traffic stop. The incident occurred on SR 5 Milton around 4 P.M.

State Troopers received a general bulletin about a shoplifting investigation being conducted by Harrington Police Department. Harrington authorities identified Heather M. Scott as a person of interest in their investigation along with an unidentified white male. Troopers responded to Scott’s residence in Milton however did not locate her there. State Police a short time later observed Scott’s vehicle a 2004 Chevrolet Impala S/B on SR 5 Milton.

State Police attempted to stop Scott however she continued driving at approximately 50 MPH and several times drove off the main portion of the roadway but did not immediately stop. Scott eventually stopped on Morris Ave Milton.

State Police detained Scott and her passenger Daniel W. Eckstrom. Upon searching Eckstrom State Troopers seized approximately 31 grams of marijuana wrapped in 26 individual plastic baggies.

Scott was arrested for the above listed offense and released on $2200.00 unsecured bond. Daniel W. Eckstrom was arrested on drug offenses and an outstanding Shoplifting charge from September 15, 2009. Eckstrom was remanded to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $$4,600.00 cash bail. Eckstrom and Scott were also arrested by Harrington Police. Please contact Harrington Police regarding those particulars 302-398-4495.
