‘By February I will be in a tent,’ says one unemployed worker
Out of work, out of savings and out of things to sell, Carolyn Johansen is running out of options to keep her home even as her unemployment benefits run out.
"By February I will be in a tent," said Johansen, from Fredericksburg, Va. “My big concerns are finding homes for my German shepherd Anna and my cat Tigra and a free place to store a thousand hardback and paperback books.”
For millions of out-of-work job seekers like Johansen, unemployment insurance is providing an increasingly tenuous financial lifeline.

When the answer to everything is cutting taxes, this is what happens to Americans.
This article moved me to tears. My husband lost his job recently and found one two months later. Receiving no unemployment benefits, we made it through by the grace of God. I thank God every day for taking care of us and pray for the ones who aren't as fortunate and are still looking for jobs.
The bankers and the politicians dont care about us, they already have their eyes on the next generation and the credit they can extend to them. The cycle continues, only without all of us, we will be the lost generation. We are all going to end up economically unviable. I dont think the worst is here yet. Were all gonna die. Its just a matter of how and where.
You guys who are crying about socialism cannot complain when unemployment benefits (i.e, welfare) run out.

We need to form groups of friends and neighbors so we can take care of ourselves. Don't count on the government to take care of you or your family!
We need gardens, hunting, make-shift shelter (barns, abandoned buildings, etc.) Put our LABOR to work for we the people. Spend time and energy getting ready for the "long cold winter" ahead. I'm not referring to weather. This economy is finished. Things will get worse and worse.
Make plans. Stop voting. Educate yourself. Learn about crops, shelter, basic carpentry, etc. Begin a barter system in your neighborhood. It can and will work. The sooner we start the better will be our results.

The Second great depression is here, and most people don't even realize it. Until corporations stop sending jobs overseas, the problems here are only going to get worse. Globalism has been a disaster for this country. Remember that big sucking sound that Ross Perot warned us about? First they sent the blue collar jobs to Mexico, then China, and now the white collar jobs are now in India or Pakistan. The government doesn't represent us, or our interests. They even helped to finance corporations who sent our jobs overseas by helping to pay for the factories and retooling. I know this because I used to work for one of them until I was outsourced! I was made to help train them, and then I was laid off with the rest of my staff. Yes I am bitter!!! Yes I am angry!!!
