OCPD Press Release


On Saturday, October 31, 2009, Ocean City police made a traffic stop which lead to the arrest of an individual who was wanted in both Prince Georges County and St.
Mary’s County, Maryland. The individual, identified as Christopher McCray, 24-years-old of Washington, DC was stopped in the area of 38th Street and Coastal Highway at
approximately 10:44 p.m.

At the time of the stop, McCray gave officers a false name and date of birth. After officers positively identified McCray, it was determined that he had two active
warrants for his arrest. The first warrant was from St. Mary’s County for a failure to appear and a second warrant from Prince George County for 1st Degree Assault and Armed Robbery. In addition to being served with warrants, McCray was charged with the following traffic citations:

• Driving vehicle without rear registration plate illumination.
• Failure of individual driving on hwy. to have license with him
• Failure of individual driving on hwy. to display license to uniformed police on
demand.
• Vehicle driver giving false and fictitious name to uniformed police
• Driving without license

McCray was seen by an Ocean City District Court Commissioner and was held on
$5,000 bond. In addition, McCray was transferred to the Worcester County Jail with a
detainer and warrant from Prince George County, a warrant from St Mary’s County
and local charges.
