Joe,
Saturday evening I was having a dinner and a movie stay at home date and we decided to order chinese food. I have been using Peking Cheer up in Delmar because I really like some of the dishes that they have. I called at 6:10 and ordered, the man told me that they were busy and it would be 45 minutes. He suggested that I come pick up the food ("you come pick up!") but I told him that 45 minutes was fine and he should go ahead and deliver. At 7:10 I called back to check on the order and he said he was leaving then and hung up. At 7:30 I called back again. The same man answered the phone and when I told him that I was still waiting he said, and I quote, "I told you to come pick up, F*&k you" and he hung up. Yikes. I called back immediately and asked to speak to the lady who works there (I think she is the owner) and he once again cussed at me and hung up. I have been going to this place since they opened and have never had this happen. I just thought that perhaps others have had issues with this man. On the bright side, I called China Express down on 50 near Nanticoke Rd and they had the food there within 35 minutes, it was delicious and we didn't starve to death (as my companion claimed we might).
Has anyone else been treated badly by the man at Peking Cheer? Just wondering.

The place has become a disgusting place of business. I stopped by the other day after being on the road all day to pick up our dinner and i waited 35 minutes with a kid screaming in the back and the old man being a ba....d. The woman was working as hard as she could with another worker and trying to ignore the kid(that was too old to be throwing a fit) and the old man who was an a--. The place was nasty, hot and flies were everywhere. I too have been getting carry-outs since it opened but will never go back again.
The man who owns this business is a NASTY, NASTY man. A few years ago he owned a place in Salisbury and he had to close the business because he went to jail for child abuse. I would advise anyone to avoid eating at this place.
Because of this event, I nor my family will ever order from this establishment again. I hope the owner is reading and aaware of this practice.
This man is nasty and disgusting. He did go to jail for child abuse. His restaurant is Salisbury was always dirty. I don't know how the health department didn't shut him down. When I heard he was opening another place in Delmar I told everyone I know to never eat there.
I tried New Peking when they first opened, and was excited because they had lemon chicken on the menu. Taste of China had taken it off the menu, and I was happy to see it again somewhere besides Hunan Palace all the way in Fruitland. The nice thing about LC is that it's a nice large filet of chicken, not just little chunks. Well it was good the first time from NPeking. The sweet and sour chicken was larger chunks than most places, and was neatly arranged, including some of the peices being sliced open. After about the 3rd time of going though, I became too annoyed with the fat man at the counter. He was very rude and pushy on the phone, constantly trying to upsell me when placing the order, and when picking up the food. I'm already ordering 2 dishes for just myself, I don't need (or like) eggroll, soup, more drinks, etc, etc. He had a horrible attitude, and I just went back to going to Taste of China. Jake and family are really nice people and I felt bad in the first place for cheating on them anyway. About 2 weeks ago, I tried New Peking again, and it had really gone down hill. The fat man was still there, and it was obvious he hadn't bathed in at least 24 hours, the apron he was wearing hadn't been washed in who knows how long and was filthy. The floor was filthy. He was just as rude, and when ringing up my order, he asked if I wanted a drink, ok fine, give me a dr. pepper and an orange soda. (me trying to be generous, ok economy is tough, there didn't look to be much money in the register at all) So even though he is standing 3 feet from the soda cooler he makes the little girl get it. It's 9:55pm, she should be getting ready for bed, not working. (i'm all for kids learning the value of work, but come on, not at 10pm) So she forgets the orange soda, he yells at her, and she's like daddy it's too far (high on shelf) So he smacks her hand and says I told you to get me an orange soda. She tries, can't reach it and runs off to the woman. He hobbles his fat ass over and gets it, and I just can't even imagine what went down when I left. There are so many better choices for 'chinese' food in the area, I do not recommend patronizing New Peking.
China Express on Route 50 has good food, reasonable prices, and the staff is pleasant. We've gone there for a couple of years now, always picking up, and the food is always ready when they say it will be ready.
The big chinese guys name is Hang On Chang ....no lie look him up he has a lenghthy criminal background and he is nasty..do not ever eat thier food please heed this warning..I cannot believe he was aloud to open another store...nasty nasty nasty
Never trust a fat chinese guy. Aren't they suppossed to be slim and eat rice all the time. This big boy is American-ized and not for the better.
Hang on Cheng is crazy! He stinks and dresses like a slob! I would never ever eat there if it was the last place on earth!!! The health department should shut him down!!!
Update:
I went up there after work today to let the nice lady know what was going on. She told me that the man was her employee, not her husband and that she was very sorry for what had happened. I then went down a couple stores to pick some things up and was telling the ladies there what had happened. They related some even worse stories and hopefully you will see them here later as both of the girls are fans of this blog and said they would post. This man needs to have some good old redneck Eastern Shore manners lessons. That poor woman (who is, apprently, his wife) needs to be given the number of a battereed womans shelter so she and her little girl can get away from the nasty man and his son (who is apparently learning Daddys ways already).
I have been happy with the food from Taste of China (near the Delmar Food Lion). The lady working the counter used to be a little cranky, but after New Peking opened up she has become much nicer. The food is better or just as good in my opinion. If they added a delivery service it would be no contest.
