Incident: Burglary
Date of Incident: 10 June 2008
Location: 1000 Block of Fairground Drive, Salisbury, MD
Suspects: Lenord N. Pompilus, Salisbury, MD
Narrative: On 10 June 2008 at 1030hrs, deputies from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office acted on a tip they received concerning the location of a wanted subject, Lenard N. Pompilus, who was hiding inside an apartment in the 1000 block of Fairground Drive. Upon arrival deputies knocked on the apartment door before being allowed to enter by the resident. Upon entry, the deputies saw a subject they recognized as Pompilus climb out a rear window. Deputies pursued Pompilus on foot and he fled into a nearby unlocked apartment in an attempt to hide from the deputies. The deputies followed Pompilus into the apartment and located him hiding in a bedroom. Pompilus resisted the efforts of the deputies to place him in handcuffs, but they were able to secure him. A search of the area where Pompilus fled to revealed a cache of marijuana that Pompilus attempted to discard.
Pompilus was arrested and transported to the Central Booking Unit at the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office where he was charged with Burglary Fourth Degree, Resisting Arrests and Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Pompilus was held on $10,000.00 bond in the Wicomico County Detention Center.
Additionally, two arrest warrants were served on Pompilus that had been outstanding. One was a District Court arrest warrant for second degree assault. Pompilus was held on $30,000.00 bond on that warrant. The second warrant was a Circuit Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear on a Handgun charge, which held Pompilus without bond in the detention center.
Incident: Vehicle Pursuit / CDS
Date of Incident: 12 June 2008
Location: U.S 13 N/B at Mt. Hermon Rd, Salisbury, MD
Suspects:
1. Charles Alexander Myers, 23, Princess Anne, MD
2. Travis Lamar Duffy, 23, Princess Anne, MD
Narrative: On 12 June 2008 at 1335hrs, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle on the U.S. 13 bypass. Instead of pulling over, the operator of the vehicle accelerated and exited U.S. 13 at Rt. 50 E/B and headed towards Hobbs Rd. The deputy pursued the vehicle until the vehicle stopped on Hobbs Road in the area of the Salisbury School. After the occupants were detained, deputies completed a search of the roadway traveled and located a bag of marijuana and a bag of cocaine. The amount of cocaine recovered was indicative of an attempt to distribute the drug. After an investigation it was determined that the passenger in the vehicle had thrown the drugs from the vehicle. All the drugs were seized and both the operator, identified as Charles Alexander Myers and his passenger, Travis Lamar Duffy, were arrested.
Both Myers and Duffy were transported to the Central Booking Unit at the Wicomico County Detention Center where they were processed. Duffy was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute. Myers was charged with Attempting to Flee and Elude Police, Reckless Driving and Negligent Driving. After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Duffy was held on $75,000.00 bond while Myers was held on $25,000.00 bond.
