President Obama’s Attitude Toward Radical Islam

Opinion: Is Obama's appeasement of radical Islam the result of political naivete - or something else entirely?

(Israel National News)--
Critics repeatedly claim that the reason President Barack Obama agreed to a catastrophic nuclear deal with Iran is his naiveté, his ineptness, and his being out negotiated. Does Obama’s record validate that thesis? Or is there evidence that President Obama’s feelings toward Islamism may require a different conclusion?

President Obama attended Pastor Jeremiah Wright’s anti-America, anti-Israel church for 20 years while calling Wright a “great man and my mentor.” Obama helped organize radical Muslim racist Louis Farahkan’s Million Man March in Washington – but refused to attend the four million man march against radical Islamic terrorism in Paris. Obama’s closest friends include Rashid Khalidi, Columbia professor, an extremist anti-Israel activist.

Although Obama has called American police and much of America racist, he has refused to ever utter the term “Islamic terrorist” when Jihadists murdered eighteen U.S. soldiers in Ford Hood and Tennessee and said nothing when two Islamic terrorists attempted to murder hundreds of Americans at a Mohammed cartoon drawing event in Texas. He’s even ordered all official military and US government documents to delete such terms.

It may surprise you to learn that during his first campaign for president, Obama said Islamic terrorist groups “Hamas and Hezbollah....have legitimate claims” (NY Times, May 16, 2008). And during the latest Hamas war against Israel, Obama sent Hamas $47 million, urged Israel to accept an early ceasefire, refused sending critical arms to Israel for several days and unnecessarily stopped US commercial flights to Israel for a short period.

SPD Press Release 8-10-15- (Stabbing/Assault Investigation-Arrest)

Fiorina Laments, No Questions on the Economy

(CNSNews.com) - "It was interesting, I really didn't get asked a lot of questions -- any questions -- on the economy," Carly Fiorina said on Friday, the morning after appearing on the debate stage in Cleveland with six other Republicans.

"I sort of threw my point of view on the economy in at one point. But I wish we'd had more time to talk about that," she told MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Friday.

Host Joe Scarborough obliged her: "What do we do about this economy?"

"Three things," Fiorina responded. "One. We have to know what the engine of economic growth is. You know what it is? Small businesses, new businesses, family-owned businesses."

Fiorina said she started her career in a small real estate firm, while her husband Frank started out driving a tow-truck at a family-owned body shop.

"The truth is, most people start out the way we did. Small businesses create two-thirds of the new jobs, they employ half the people. We are crushing them. So when we crush small business, we are now destroying more than we're creating for the first time in U.S. history. We're crushing opportunity."

How are we crushing small businesses? Scarborough asked her.

"Oh, the weight of a 75,000-page tax code -- regulations that just keep pouring out of this government," she responded, moving on to her second point:

An ObamaCare Story from California

Notes from an Engineer.

I am a consulting engineer and make between $60,000 and $125,000 per year, depending on how hard I work and whether or not there are work projects out there for me.

My girlfriend is 61 and makes about $18,000 per year, working as a part-time mail clerk.

For me, making $60,000 a year, under ObamaCare, the cheapest, lowest grade policy I can buy, which also happens to impose a $5,000 deductible, costs $482 per month.
For my girlfriend, the same exact policy, same deductible, costs $1 per month. That's right, $1 per month. I'm not making this up.

Don't believe me? Just go to http://www.coveredca.com , the ObamaCare website for California and enter the parameters I've mentioned above and see for yourself. By the way, my zip code is 93940. You'll need to enter that.

So OK, clearly ObamaCare is a scheme that involves putting the cost burden of healthcare onto the middle and upper-income wage earners. But there's a lot more to it. Stick with me.

And before I make my next points, I'd like you to think about something:

I live in Monterey County, in Central California. We have a large land mass but just 426,000 residents - about the population of Colorado Springs or the city of Omaha.

But we do have a large Hispanic population, including a large number of illegal aliens, and to serve this group we have Natividad Medical Center, a massive, Federally subsidized county medical complex that takes up an area about one-third the size of the Chrysler Corporation automobile assembly plant in Belvedere, Illinois (see Google Earth View). Natividad has state-of-the-art operating rooms, Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging, fully equipped, 24 hour emergency room, and much more. If you have no insurance, if you've been in a drive-by shooting or have overdosed on crack cocaine, this is where you go. And it's essentially free, because almost everyone who ends up in the ER is uninsured.

You Won’t Believe Why The NYC Gov’t Fired A City Employee After 18 Months Of Missed Work

Just when you thought government couldn’t get any more incompetent. Medicaid-eligibility specialist Geoffrey Toliver, 65, passed away from cancer in December last year. Long after he died, New York City officials filed to terminate his employment for missing 18 months of work.

The first post-debate poll is in and you may be surprised at who’s in first!

Surprise! Just as I predicted. The only one I didn’t factor in was Ben Carson. I had Trump, Cruz and Fiorina pegged. Carson came in third. Despite all the theatrics and fireworks, this is exactly what I expected and this poll is right on the money. Who knows if Trump will go all the way? This much we do know, he’s tapped into the collective anger of Americans on issues the establishment Republicans won’t touch. Trump has been working the media, winning the people, while Cruz has been working Congress. He was widely applauded for calling Mitch McConnell the liar he is. If they both keep doing what they are doing and in fact, step up their game, they will rock the political structure in a way we have never seen in recent history, if ever. If everyone will just stay away from the political mud-slinging, this should be a hell of a ride. One I relish and look forward to. “Cry ‘Havoc!’, and let slip the dogs of war.” Or politics, as the case may be.

Live hand grenade found, safely removed from Thurmont McDonald's parking lot

An active military-grade hand grenade was uncovered Saturday afternoon in the parking lot outside the Thurmont McDonald’s.

A bomb technician with the Office of the State Fire Marshal secured and removed the active grenade nearly two hours after first responders received the call, which prompted road closures, evacuations and a cordoned-off 50-foot perimeter around the site at 200 Frederick Road, just off of U.S. 15.

Bomb technician Dale Ednock said the grenade, found lodged about a foot under the pavement, was there for quite some time. The military grenade was likely a relic of the military base located in Thurmont several decades ago, Ednock said.

Teachers Union Publishes Guidelines For ‘Supporting’ Transgender Students

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Education Association – the nation’s largest teachers union – recently released guidelines for school administrators to deal with transgender student issues.

The report, “Schools in Transition,” is a collaborative project with the National Center for Lesbian Rights, Gender Spectrum, the American Civil Liberties Union, and the Human Rights Campaign aimed at explaining transgender students’ rights under federal Title IX laws, SFGate.com reports.

The goal is to help school administrators who aren’t sure how to handle transgender students, such as requests by biological boys who “identify” as girls to use the girls restroom and locker room facilities.

“This guide changes that by giving all the stakeholders in a school the tools to support a transgender student in their school,” the report’s lead author, Asaf Orr, told the news site. “Following this guide will not only assist schools in complying with Title IX, but also create a safe and more supportive environment for all students in the district.”

It’s the same section of federal law that advocates against educator sexual misconduct have pointed to as a means of forcing schools to correct an epidemic of teachers and other school employees who sexually abuse students.

Across the country, teachers are arrested virtually every day for sexual relationships with students – an ordeal that leaves victims with deep emotional scars that can take decades to heal. Unfortunately, the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights that oversees Title IX enforcement has largely ignored pleas from victims to fight for their rights.

The National Education Association has never widely publicized a guide for school administrators to deal with student victims of educator sexual misconduct.

Unfortunately, the NEA has largely ignored that much more serious problem because it’s perpetuated by its members and union officials who work to cut secret deals for the accused.

Blacks Won't Rebuke Farrakhan Terror Threats

Jesse Lee Peterson warns, 'This is pure evil. And it could start a race war'

“If the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us. Stalk them and kill them. Let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling.” – Louis Farrakhan speech at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Miami on July 30, 2015

Louis Farrakhan made terror threats against white Americans in his recent speech at a Baptist church in Miami, and the silence from Barack Obama, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, the media and most conspicuously – black Americans – is deafening.

Farrakhan did not make this speech in a mosque. He made it in a Christian church. And the congregation cheered his chilling threats of death against white Americans as if Jesus Christ had come down from heaven.

The Nation of Islam is hosting the 20th anniversary of the Million Man March, with its chilling “Justice or Else” theme, on Oct. 10 in Washington, D.C.

“I’m looking for the 10,000, in the midst of a million. Ten thousand fearless men who say, ‘Death is sweeter than continued life under tyranny.”

Black people are not living under the tyranny of white people. They’ve brought this tyranny upon themselves through their own blame and hatred.

Farrakhan gave a congregation of angry blacks license to kill white cops and other white people. This is pure evil. And it could start a race war, which I have no doubt is his intention.

Whites are not killing blacks in large numbers. In fact, the opposite is true. Blacks are robbing, raping and killing whites at alarming rates. And black-on-black crime is higher than ever in cities like Baltimore, New York City and Chicago.

Maryland's fastest-growing voting bloc: Unaffiliated voters

As the nation gears up for another campaign season, political party membership in Maryland remains lopsided.

Statewide, Democrats hold a more than 2-to-1 advantage over Republicans, but in rural areas like Washington County, Republicans hold a commanding lead. While Democrats struggle to win elections in Western Maryland, their fellow party members maintain a stranglehold on the General Assembly.

But lately, both parties are having to contend with a different political force: the unaffiliated voter.

In Washington County and the state as a whole, the number of voters declining to declare any political party affiliation is surging, according to statistics from the state Board of Elections. In the last five years, numbers of unaffiliated voters statewide have grown more than twice as fast as Democrats, and about four times as fast as Republicans. This continues a trend that started several years before.

What Budget Deficits Don't Tell You About the Debt

There's a lot of argument over which President ran the highest deficits, and contributed the most to the national debt. It's not as easy as you might think to determine how much deficit each President created. The easy way is to look at the deficit by year for the length of their terms.

However, the President isn't responsible for the budget deficit that accrues for his first calendar year in office (January through December).

That's because the budget for January through September 30 of that year was already set by the prior President. The Federal government's fiscal year runs from October 1 through September 30.

Here's an example of how it works. President Bush submitted the FY 2009 budget to Congress in February 2008. Congress approved it, and it took effect October 1 2008. President Obama was elected in November 2008, and started office in January 2009. He had to live with President Bush's budget until his budget was approved and took effect October 1 2009.

This is also a rare example of how a President can add to the previous budget. Right after President Obama took office, the Dow dropped to 6,594.44 and sparked fears of the recession worsening. Obama got
Congressional approval to pass the Economic Stimulus Act. Congress authorized another $253 billion to be spent immediately, adding that amount to Bush's FY 2009 budget.

Troopers Investigate Fatal Crash East of Laurel

Laurel, DE – Troopers are investigating a fatal crash that occurred east of Laurel early last evening that involved a motorcycle, a deer, and a car.

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. Sunday August 9, 2015 as Brian E. Davis, 45 of Laurel, was operating a 2009 Honda VC7 motorcycle westbound on Laurel Road (SR 24) just west of Christ Church Road when a small female deer entered the roadway and directly into the path of the motorcycle. The front of the motorcycle struck the deer in the westbound lane causing it to fall over on the right side and slide, still entangled with the deer, in a southwesterly direction before coming to rest in the eastbound shoulder. As a result, Davis was totally ejected from his motorcycle and was lying in the westbound lane of travel. Sarah A. Sturgis, 38 of Frankford, was operating a 2008 Ford Mustang westbound on SR 24 and failed to see the motorcyclist lying in the roadway and subsequently ran over him. After impact, the Mustang came to a controlled stop on the south side of the roadway.

Brian Davis, who was wearing an approved DOT helmet, was transported from the scene by EMS to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Sarah Sturgis and her two passengers, a 24 year old female and a 9 year old female, were all properly restrained and were uninjured.

The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is continuing their investigation into this incident. Alcohol does not appear to be a contributing factor for either operator in this case. SR24 between Christ Church Road and Old Stage Road was closed for approximately three hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.

Man, 42, missing after sailboat sinks near Bay Bridge

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — Police say one man is missing after a 17-foot sailboat sank in the Chesapeake Bay near the Bay Bridge.

Maryland Natural Resources Police spokeswoman Candy Thomson says the boat ran into trouble around noon on Sunday. She says it sank so fast that the two adults and four children on board didn’t have time to put on life jackets.

Thomson says another boater nearby came to their aid and pulled one man and four children from the water. The children range in age from 5 to 13.

"Bill Clinton is rubbing his hands with glee and taking full credit for Donald Trump’s mounting problems — his belligerent handling of Fox’s Megyn Kelly and his refusal to rule out a third-party bid," Klein wrote.

THE RIVERS EDGE PROJECT IS A JOKE FOR ARTISTS: Long Read But Very Interesting

My experience applying for "starving artist"

My experience has been a complete nightmare and run around to only be a waste of time as a starving artist trying to get an apartment at this complex.

1st experience: I went to see the apartments as soon as I was given the news article from May 15th by Jeromy Cox in the Daily Times and was greeted with a very young women that was just rude and mean. She had said some pretty nasty things to me a couple of times after asking some questions. Clearly she didn't want to talk to me. So I went over to a couple of ladies that were interested artist and went on the tour and asked her questions. She told me that the apartments were nice but very small and that they will not tell you anything and its like its all a big secret. We were standing at the three boards with the layouts to the complex. Next to the layouts was a door to the outside patio so I went out the door to look at the complex from there and this young girl comes out the door and says to me " you have to leave right now" . With a very shocked face I looked at her and asked "oh my what is wrong did I do something wrong? She says " this is private property and you are not allowed to be here on the grounds and you have to leave right now " . I then came in the door and apologized if I had done anything wrong and there were no signs on the doors to state otherwise so I'm sorry. she says again " you have to leave" with that I had had enough of her rude self. My daughter was with me and she left because she just knew I was really upset how she was talking to me. My daughter is a very professional calm and collected person and she had to leave because this girl was just sooooooo nasty. At that time I said to the girl " why are you talking to me like this? I have done nothing wrong and you have talked to me like a dog since I came in the door? Her reply was "my feet are killing me and I'm tired and it's been a busy day". Really!!!!!!!!!! Spoke to the manager but did ask her not to say anything because maybe she is having a bad day but management needs to police her associates. We are coming here as potential tenants and this girl is very rude.

2nd experience: went in for the tour (which by the way is on second floor) apartment. I told Mr. Ward that I was terrified of steps but he was very nice and helped me. While on tour I noticed a young black gentleman with his little boy pulling a cooler across the grounds. Lady with our tour noticed him and ask him as he was entering a 1st floor apt. "do you live here"? "yes, I live with my grandmother". Light bulb went off in my mind! Then as we went around the grounds I noticed another very young black gentleman going down stairs with his baby on his hips. I continue with tour and then I got the application packet and went on my way. Excited that I as and artist will have a new place to live and share with other "starving artists".

BREAKING NEWS: WalMart Dumps TOXIC Chemicals Into Storm Drain In Fruitland

While most of you are sound asleep at night, there are some people hard at work trying to maintain high traffic businesses. In this case, WalMart.

The images above were exclusively sent to Salisbury News this morning from a professional flooring company owner who became outraged when they learned what WalMart is doing.

When this individual confronted the manager of the Fruitland WalMart they as much as dismissed his complaint. Then along came the flooring person who admitted right then and there that she was "trying to make it to the storm drain" but had a problem and knew it would make it down the parking lot and into the drain.

What you are seeing as a liquid in the above pictures is STRIPPER. Now this chemical has to be potent enough to strip basically plastic off the floors. It can burn you and it is most definitely toxic. The last place this chemical should be going is down a storm drain and ultimately into the Chesapeake Bay. When my friend confronted them they did at least try to cover it up with sand.

The proper authorities have been contacted, including the Coast Guard in Baltimore. You have to wonder Ladies & Gentlemen, just how many WalMart stores are dumping these chemicals into the Bay and WHY a Rain Tax was even proposed in the state of Maryland.

Yeah, it's the Farmers fault, NOT!

A Letter To The Editor: Fox News Debate

I want to make a comment that's sure to stir the proverbial sh**.

I am a long time fan of Fox news - that is until last night.

To me, fair and balanced means exactly that. But I saw a side of Fox News last night on the debate that opened my eyes. The most significant thing about it is that I almost fell for it. After the debate I went to bed changing my mind from one who supported Trump to one who was disappointed in his performance. I had converted to a position that maybe Trump wasn't educated enough on the issues to be POTUS. But as I laid in bed considering the debate there were things that didn't rest well with me that I couldn't put my finger on. I woke up at 4:00 am like I always do and made coffee to start the day. As the cobwebs cleared, my thoughts drifted back to last nights debate and again the things that troubled me as I was drifting to sleep last night resurfaced.

As I compared the questions in my mind that were posed to Trump and compared them to those posed to other candidates it hit me! It was the way the debate was structured from the beginning that bothered me. The underlying effort of this debate was designed to discredit Trump in order to eliminate him early as a viable candidate.

From the very first question fox news decided to exploit an honorable trait (telling it like he sees it) in order the put him on the wrong side of the voters. And for many it was successful. It may be that Trump is unpolished as it relates to debates but he is a quick study and you never have to wonder where he stands on an issue. In my opinion fox news has exposed itself as a Republican Party hack. They can talk about the liberal main stream media all they want but the way they picked, chose, and created questions geared toward insulting and discrediting Trump and literally singling him out for ridicule in a public forum clearly shows that they are pro Republican Party- not neutral. Certainly not fair and balanced.

In my opinion, after looking past the actual questions and answers it became painfully obvious that the media - to include fox news, are puppets to political parties via party supporters who advertise with them or have powerful positions with in their corporate structure. Fair and balanced? No. But now that I've opened my eyes I can see the transparency as plain as day. We need someone like Trump to negotiate our way back to a respected global superpower. I don't think there is anyway to bring us back from the debt created by Obama but if there is a way, Trump will find it.

Dad shoots down drone hovering over sunbathing daughter

LOUISVILLE, Ky -- A dad in Kentucky says he did what he had to do to protect his teen daughter's privacy. He says he noticed a drone with what looked like a camera, hovering over his daughter. So he ran inside, got his gun and shot it down.

"I didn't shoot across the road, I didn't shoot across my neighbor's fences, I shot directly into the air," William Merideth said.

That's when he says four men cam onto his property.

"They asked me, 'Are you the S-O-B that shot my drone?' and I said, 'Yes I am,'" he said. "I had my 40 mm Glock on me and they started toward me and I told them, 'If you cross my sidewalk, there's gonna be another shooting.'"

Who Won The Republican Debate?

Rumors & Lies Part III

Last week the EBT Blogger took it upon himself to publish an extremely defaming article about an innocent woman he claimed was abusing and hoarding horses. Of course he never investigated if the information he received was factual or true and his sources have even gone so far as publishing pictures of a minor child on Facebook. One of the sources is a Wicomico County Sheriff's Deputy, all of which could be facing legal troubles for their actions.

Nevertheless, I want ALL of you to read the next paragraph.

"State Veterinary from Maryland Department of Agriculture along with the Wicomico County Animal Control visited Tuesday, August 4. All horses in satisfactory condition, no sign of infectious or contagious diseases. ACTION RECOMMENDED: NONE."

Based on the trouble these Idiots brought on, the State got involved and brought in an independent Veterinarian from Frederick and determined there was absolutely no wrong doing and the horses are perfectly fine. They reviewed veterinarian documents proving these horses were under veterinarian care and gave a clean bill of health, case closed.

To the Idiots who brought this on, get some good lawyers because your going to need them. You went too far with your BS lies and used a bottom feeder to expose them. Shame on ALL of you.

Donald Trump Promotes Tweet Calling Megyn Kelly A ‘Bimbo’

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump shared a tweet calling Fox News host Megyn Kelly a “bimbo,” just hours after she pressed him about disparaging comments he’s made toward women.

Shortly after the debate ended, the business magnate took to Twitter to tear into Ms. Kelly, saying she “bombed” and was “the biggest loser” in the debate.

Among his tweets was a post sharing a supporter’s message that called her a “bimbo.”

Fox News & Megyn Kelly Get Blasted By Conservatives After A Horrible Debate Performance

I like Fox News and generally have little other than good things to say about them, but they did a terrible job in the first debate.

Fox made it perfectly clear that they hate Donald Trump by hitting him with vicious below the belt question after question, but that wasn’t all there was to it. Fox also spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get the candidates to fight each other instead of the Democrats. Eventually, they succeeded in getting Rand Paul and Chris Christie to scream at each other. Undoubtedly Fox will gleefully replay their spat all day tomorrow. Is that good for Fox’s ratings? Maybe. Is it good for the Republican Party? No way. Is it good for the conservative movement? Absolutely not.

I’ve never seen as much venom aimed at Fox News and Megyn Kelly on social media as I did last night and honestly, they deserved every bit of it and then some. Here is a small, but representative sample of the comments from conservatives aboutFox that appeared on social media last night.

‘PIG’ Written on Cop’s Order Gets Taco Bell Worker FIRED

Who the hell does this- to ANYONE? This is an outrageous incident in which someone who thinks they deserve $15 an hour is writing nasty, grade school insults on wrappers for food. What a major jerk:

Employee gets the boot.

Via The Blaze:

After a Kansas police officer and his fiancee picked up their to-go order from a Taco Bell in Newton on Saturday night, the couple experienced quite a shock.

The word “PIG” was penned in what appears to be black marker on at least two of their items.

The couple told KAKE-TV they called and spoke to the manager on duty, who said they could bring back the five soft tacos and get new ones. When the couple told the manager they couldn’t return since they were both working, she said she would arrange to get their money refunded and food remade.

But on Sunday Taco Bell told KAKE they’ve done one better and fired the employee who left the nasty notes.

“We do not share the same belief or view as the employee whatsoever,” Jeff Graves, senior director of operations for Taco Bell, told the station. “Our company, Taco Bell, has always been pro-law enforcement, military. We’ve always supported the police in our community. Many of our restaurants give police discounts when they come in and eat.”

Graves added that he’s been in touch with the couple.

“We’ve of course apologized to him, all the Newton Police officers and, in fact, everyone in the community,” he added to KAKE. “In fact, I’ve even met with the lieutenant with the Newton Police Department this morning, and we’re even going to plan a community event working with the Newton Police officers within the next week just to show our support for the officers and the community.”

High gun ownership makes countries less safe, US study finds

American journal expedites publication of study in wake of navy yard shooting that debunks belief guns make a nation safer

Guns do not make a nation safer, say US doctors who have compared the rate of firearms-related deaths in countries where many people own guns with the death rate in countries where gun ownership is rare.

Their findings, published Wednesday in the prestigious American Journal of Medicine, debunk the historic belief among many people in the United States that guns make a country safer, they say. On the contrary, the US, with the most guns per head in the world, has the highest rate of deaths from firearms, while Japan, which has the lowest rate of gun ownership, has the least.

The journal has fast-tracked publication of the study because of the shootings at the Washington navy yard. It was originally scheduled for later this week.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has urged school districts throughout the country to start classes at 8:30 a.m. or later. Nationally, 83 percent of middle school and high school classes begin much earlier. The average start time is 8:03 a.m., based on data from the 2011-12 school year.

The CDC recommendation follows similar guidance last year from the American Academy of Pediatrics, and marks one of the few times the CDC has issued a wake-up call to educators on a lifestyle issue that can have a huge impact on adolescent health.

ADA Standards for Accessible Design

The Department of Justice’s revised regulations for Titles II and III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) were published in the Federal Register on September 15, 2010. These regulations adopted revised, enforceable accessibility standards called the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, "2010 Standards." On March 15, 2012, compliance with the 2010 Standards was required for new construction and alterations under Titles II and III. March 15, 2012, is also the compliance date for using the 2010 Standards for program accessibility and barrier removal.

The 1991 ADA Standards for Accessible Design, printed as Appendix A of the title III regulation in the Code of Federal Regulations, July 1, 1994 could be used for new construction and alterations under Titles II and III until March 14, 2012.

The Department has assembled an official online version of the 2010 Standards to bring together the information in one easy-to-access location. It provides the scoping and technical requirements for new construction and alterations resulting from the adoption of revised 2010 Standards in the final rules for Title II (28 CFR part 35) and Title III (28 CFR part 36).

The Department has also compiled Guidance on the 2010 Standards from the revised regulations for Titles II and III. This explanatory information from the regulations addresses the scoping and technical provisions of the 2010 Standards.

If you have questions about the ADA Standards and want to talk to a Department of Justice ADA Information Specialist, go to the ADA Information Line page for the Department's toll-free telephone numbers and times of operation.

Proposed Worcester facility passes Stadium Authority vote

An indoor/outdoor sports complex to be located somewhere within the county has cleared the Maryland Stadium Authority by unanimous decision and now progresses to the state legislature for another approval.

Details of the project first emerged in January, although there had been some communication between Hat Trick consultants, the Texas-based firm with a hockey focus and Economic Development Director Bill Badger beforehand.

Hat Trick consultants have an ownership interest in a minor league hockey franchise, and would like to see a facility here that could house it or another hockey team, plus other events or sports teams. The Worcester County Commissioners added outdoor facilities to the proposal for what was originally an enclosed structure.

Federal judge rules Va. can recall Confederate flag plates

A Federal Judge officially issued a ruling Thursday that will allow Virginia to begin recalling license plates with the Confederate battle flag.

Judge Jackson Kiser granted Attorney General Mark Herring's motion to dissolve an injunction that forced Virginia to put the Confederate flag on certain specialty license plates.

Because the injunction has been dissolved, DMVs in Virginia will begin the administrative process of recalling and replacing existing license plates with ones that comply with Virginia law.

A 2001 injunction allowed the Sons of Confederate Veterans to place the Confederate flag on certain license plates in Virginia.

These Are The 10 Worst Places To Live In Maryland

Maryland is a pretty fantastic state, overall. There are some of the most underrated beaches on the east coast here. The western side has some awesome mountains and scenery. And Baltimore, is well, Baltimore. At least the Ravens are always contenders, and the O’s have proven they can contend in the AL East.
But is it all great in the Old Line State? Of course not. Just like every other state, Maryland has its trouble spots. The purpose of this post is to use science and data to determine which cities in Maryland are the least desirable to live in.
Of course, you’ll most likely disagree if you see your town atop this list. But nonetheless, according to science, these cities are the worst places you could possibly live if you make Maryland your home. These places need a big hug right about now.
After analyzing 191 of the state’s most populous cities (over 5,000 people), we came up with this list as the 10 worst places to live in Maryland:
  1. Elkton
  2. Salisbury
  3. Cumberland
  4. Hagerstown
  5. Cambridge
  6. Lansdowne
  7. Ocean City
  8. Robinwood
  9. Cockeysville

Frustrated Salisbury Business Owner

I am not one to post negative stuff, but I was highly annoyed today when I went to my store and had a citation from the City of Salisbury for grass in the cracks of the Unrepaired city sidewalk.....Seems to me with the crime rate as it is, the city might want to invest more money in law enforcement, instead of city code enforcement......

Rep. Cummings: ‘Black Lives Have To Matter To Black People’

BALTIMORE (WJZ) — The nonstop spike in crime from month to month has one of Maryland’s top congressional leaders begging for an end to what he calls “black on black” violence.

Marcus Washington with more on Congressman Elijah Cummings’ emotional call for peace.

It’s not often we see a man beg publicly, but that is what’s happening when it comes to the homicides and shootings in Baltimore. Congressman Cummings is not alone, as he is begging for it to stop.

It’s the constant tragedy that is becoming normality in Baltimore City. Each month, city police are recording some of the highest homicides per month in decades.

“And so I’m begging you–put your guns down–put your guns down and allow people to live,” said Congressman Elijah Cummings.

Town’s leaders defend firing of first black police chief

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. (AP) — Leaders of a small, predominantly black town on Maryland’s Eastern Shore are defending their decision to fire the town’s first black police chief and call for healing racial tensions that have divided the community.

“You’re looking for answers. … I’ve been wanting to bust loose and say what I want to say, but I can’t,” Pocomoke City Mayor Bruce Morrison told representatives of a group called Citizens for a Better Pocomoke, which on Monday evening asked the mayor and council members to work with them to reinstate former police Chief Kelvin Sewell.

“This act has destabilized our community and now brought about division,” the Rev. Ronnie White of the House of Love Christian Center said.

Morrison, who is white, said he was willing to work with the group.

Louis Farrakhan: If the Federal Gov’t Does Not Intercede, ‘We Must Rise Up & Kill Those Who Kill Us’

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan called late last month for black Americans to “rise up” and “kill those who kill us” if the federal government fails to “intercede in our affairs.”

The call for violence came during a July 30 speech the radical leader delivered at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Miami.

“The Koran teaches persecution is worse than slaughter. Then it says, retaliation is prescribed in matters of the slain. Retaliation is a prescription from God to calm the breaths of those whose children have been slain,” Farrakhan said.

Firing of Town's First Black Police Chief Leads to Turmoil

Residents of a small town on Maryland's Eastern Shore vented their frustrations and concerns about the ouster of the town's first black police chief at a City Council meeting Monday that devolved into angry shouting.

Two local pastors, representing a group called Citizens for a Better Pocomoke, called on the mayor and council members to work with them to reinstate former Pocomoke City police Chief Kelvin Sewell.

"The integrity and reputation of our community is our utmost concern, and we feel has been greatly compromised, ... " the Rev. Ronnie White of the House of Love Christian Center said. "This act has destabilized our community and now brought about division."

Mayor Bruce Morrison said he was willing to work with the group to help heal the predominantly black town, which has been torn by racial tension, but Sewell would not likely get his job back.

"I don't see that happening, bringing Chief Sewell back," Morrison said.

JUST IN: Jindal cuts off state Medicaid funds for Planned Parenthood

Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R) has canceled a contract that provides Planned Parenthood with state Medicaid funds.

Medicaid, the joint federal and state health insurance program for the poor, represents a major source of the group’s government funding, at about 75 percent nationwide.

In a statement, Jindal said that under his state's contract with the pro-abortion rights organization, “either party can choose to cancel the contract at will after providing written notice.”

The state says it has given 30 days notice to Planned Parenthood, which is under fire after a series of undercover videos showing officials from the group discussing fetal tissue.

Biden For President? Allies Mulling Clinton Challenge

WASHINGTON (AP) — Vice President Joe Biden’s associates have resumed discussions about a 2016 presidential run after largely shelving such deliberations while his son was sick and dying earlier this year. But Biden has yet to tell his staff whether he will run or personally ask them to do any planning for a potential campaign, according to several people close to the vice president.

Recent conversations between Biden’s associates and Democratic donors and operatives have led to speculation that Biden will challenge front-runner Hillary Rodham Clinton for the party’s nomination, and individuals close to Biden have started looking into the options that might be available to him if he were to run, such as potential staff in Iowa and the filing deadlines for entering the Democratic field.

But the people close to the vice president say his launching a White House run remains uncertain. Biden is expected to make a final decision as soon as early September, according to those familiar with his plans.

A Maryland Town Fires Its Black Police Chief, Exposing a Racial Rift

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. — Kelvin Sewell figured he had landed his dream job in 2010, when he retired as a Baltimore police officer to help run the tiny 16-member force in this little riverfront city, which calls itself “the friendliest town on the Eastern Shore.” A year later he became its first African-American police chief.

Blacks and whites have coexisted, sometimes uneasily, in Pocomoke for centuries, but Chief Sewell, with his easygoing manner, quickly fit in. He prodded officers to patrol on foot, pleasing business owners. He helped poor students fill out college applications. Crime, everyone agrees, went down on his watch.

But the chief’s abrupt dismissal in June, without explanation, by a white mayor and majority white City Council that voted along racial lines, has torn Pocomoke asunder, wrecking old friendships and exposing a deep racial rift in this community of roughly 4,100 people, split almost evenly between black and white.

Publishers Notes: This New York Times article, (to me) seems somewhat unfair. It strongly suggests the issue at hand is a racial one, it is not. If they had found the right source they would have at least learned there is far more to this story then meets the eye.

Now, I will say that probably no one will go on the record and or can give them first hand information and their job is to deliver the facts. However, suggesting it is a racial matter is not factual, it's suggestive and it  is the easy route. The article, (like most papers today) desperately goes after the wow factor. It suggests that the Town is still radical towards blacks and that it is run by whites.

Well, blacks have every right to run for office and that has been proven in Princess Anne. It's a shame our Main Stream Media feels the need to continue a divide. No, there will not be a follow up story in the New York Times about WHY this Police Chief was let go when all is said and done. I can tell you however, there are numerous reasons for his dismissal and they are NOT racially motivated.

Finally, IF that were the case he would have never been chosen for the job, yet too many people dismiss that fact. They are stirring the national pot and continuing the racial divide in America and in my opinion is out of line. Let this run its course and let's stop the assumptions until due diligence is complete.

Sprinklers, and added cost, now universal in Maryland

OCEAN CITY —The final stroke of state sprinkler requirements could dampen single-family construction in the resort area, as the now-mandatory fire safety devices continue what many describe as long trend of added regulatory expense.

As of the first of this month, Maryland jurisdictions, including municipalities and counties, are no longer able to exercise an opt-out from the state fire safety code requiring sprinklers in all new construction, including single-family homes.

“When you talk about how poor Worcester County is, with the exception of Ocean City, you’re saying people who are already struggling to build a home now have an additional cost that may prohibit them from building a house,” said Reese Cropper, president of Insurance Management Group.

A statement from the authority said Jericho “is still alive and being monitored” by Brent Stapelkamp, who is following Jericho’s movements with the help of a satellite collar on the lion.
