I wrote an article called 5 Places NOT To Be When The Dollar Collapses. In it I wrote that societies that benefited the most from the dollar would be the worst places to be when it fell apart. While the dollar has not even collapsed yet, the strain in these areas is becoming more apparent. England is number 3 on the list has had 4 days of violent riots as people start to lose it. Israel is number 1 on that list has had massive protests. There is revolution in the air all over the world except in the US.
America is still in deep denial which is still the first stage of the Awakening. This denial will be wiped away when the dollar collapses. For now the economy is still functioning with food and fuel available. Americans still have the illusion of wealth and normalcy. They still are stuck in the false left right paradigm and think some other sock puppet will turn things around.
When the dollar collapses, all American illusions will collapse with it. Deep denial will turn into deep anger. The violence I expect in the other 3 areas on the list and all urban areas in the US, will make all other global riots pale in comparison. America is deeply infused with arrogance, denial, narcissism, drugs and violence. There is no other society that I know of that has the degree of intensity and combination of these factors.

Please tell me I am missing the boat here!! Is there anyplace in Salisbury where a couple can go for a good seafood dinner these days without paying an arm and a leg. Heck, I wouldn't even mind that if the seafood was good. We usually go to Chincoteague for good dinners. Every time we eat out in Salisbury, I always ask if the fish are fresh and the waiter usually says something like "well at one time"! That is the clue! Of course, I love Market Street, and had the best swordfish ever. I cooked some on the grill a few weeks ago that I got at Martin Fish Co. in W. Ocean City . They have it all, but I do get tired of cooking and enjoy eating out (a lot) . It is sad we don't have a "Seafood Restaurant" like Bill's Seafood Inn which was "before you were born". LOL I can remember the trucks coming in from Ocean City about 11:00 in the morning unloading what they would be serving for dinner that day!!! A place to sit down and eat without a lot of hustle and just a relaxing atmosphere. Where are the entrepreneurs'. They need to get busy and open up a Seafood Bar if nothing else. These restaurants here are a joke!

Fed Warns Bank Of The Eastern Shore
Federal banking regulators have ordered the troubled Bank of the Eastern Shore, which has two branches in Cambridge, to take steps to strengthen its financial position.
The Federal Reserve System directed the bank’s management either to sell shares or take other measures to make the bank adequately capitalized, or find a buyer or another financial institution to merge with. From Dec. 31, 2010 to June 30, 2011, the bank’s equity capital dropped from $10.9 million to $7.7 million, for a net loss of $3.2 million, according to regulators.
The bank has 60 days to comply with the order, which was issued on Thursday.

On August 10, 2011 at approximately 5:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were in the area of Rt. 50 and E. Main Street and observed a vehicle that had left the roadway and was stuck on the concrete median. Obama Lies 7 Times In Under 2 Minutes!
Earlier today, we ran a rather colorful editorial by Dr. Adrian Krieg titled The Dirt! And in that editorial Krieg exposes an embarrassing list of character flaws exhibited by America's leading political class. And naturally, Barack Obama doesn't escape the clutches of Krieg's rather venomous pen. He writes:

We got CHANGE instead with the most corrupt, secretive, lying, stonewalling, cover up, scandal-based Presidency - one that exhibits a total disregard of law, the US Constitution and the American Bill of Rights. It is the worst administration in our history. I thought Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and George W. Bush were bad. And they certainly were, they were shysters. But Barack Obama takes the cake. He lied in regards to the Blogo matter, he lies daily on the economy, employment, finance, housing, income and anything else I can think of. In fact, Obama tells so many lies that he can't even remember what he said last week and continuously trips himself up on falsehoods he espoused just the day before.
So we decided to take a quick trip around the 'Net to see if we could find a video that gives some examples of the kind of lies Dr. Krieg credits to Mr. Obama. Lo and behold it didn't take too long to come up with a vast selection from which to choose and we decided this one from his previous presidential campaign might suffice. Hopefully the voting public all get to see "performances" like this one prior to the upcoming 2012 election. Maybe then the voters could do a little character comparison between an actor like Obama and someone with real integrity, like Dr. Ron Paul.

NOW The Postal Service Plans To Cut 220,000 Jobs
Postal officials tell Federal News Radio they want to eliminate 220,000 jobs by 2015. 100,000 of those would come through attrition. The remaining 120,000 would come in the form of layoffs, if Congress agrees to eliminate layoff protections in collective bargaining agreements. USPS also wants to set up and manage its own retirement and health benefits plans for employees.

Retail Sales Rose 0.5 Percent In July
Consumers spent more on autos, furniture, clothing and gas in July, pushing up retail sales by the largest amount in four months. The gain signaled that Americans are a little more confident in the economy and could helped dispel fears that the country is headed for another recession.
Retail sales rose 0.5 percent last month, the Commerce Department said Friday. It was the best showing since March. The government also revised sales higher in the previous two months.

This works out to: Legislators 374 out of 535 that are crooks, which leaves 164 that could be clean. What a state of affairs and they have an 87% re-election rate to boot!
We pay congressmen $174,000.00 per year. Then we give them an employee allowance for $900,000.00. Then we give them $250,000.00 for office expenses (we provide the office space). The average legislator costs the taxpayers $3.3 million a year. Can you imagine that sort of income and then not being able to get a credit card due to bad debt? Oh I almost forgot, the "Franking Privilege" and the healthcare that costs only $300 per month for a full family, children to age 25, and the pension, well, then we have Senator Bird who is collecting $190.000.00 plus per year in pension plus free healthcare. And yes it is extortion because they set their own salaries by automatic increases of about $3,200.00 per year that they never vote for but always get. Former Warrant Lead Singer Jani Lane Dies At 47
Jani Lane, the former lead singer of the metal rock band Warrant, has died in Los Angeles. He was 47.Officer Sara Faden says Lane's body was found Thursday in a Woodland Hills hotel.

Pet Pit Bull Mauls Pregnant Calif. Woman To Death
A pregnant northern California woman was mauled to death by her pet pit bull, which was later shot and killed, reports say.The body of Darla Napora, 32, was found at her home in Pacifica, said police Captain Dave Bertini, according to NBC Bay Area affiliate KNTV.
The victim's husband found his wife around noon, with one of the family's pit bulls standing over her body, KNTV said. He was able to get the dog into the backyard before police arrived, but the animal escaped, charging the officers later.

Recession Threatens On Household Spending Consecutive Declines
Recession signals in the world’s largest economy are flashing red again.
Growth in the second quarter slowed to a pace that has typically been followed by a contraction within a year. Household spending fell in June for the third straight month; never in the past five decades has this happened outside of a slump. The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index plunged 16.8 percent in 11 days, performance that’s occurred only twice since at least 1970 without indicating a downturn.
“With so many red flags, the chances of a recession are rising,” said Jonathan Basile, a senior economist at Credit Suisse in New York. “A lot of the economic indicators are teetering. We’ve gone very quickly from a slowdown scare to a recession scare.”
Signs that the flagging U.S. recovery may fizzle haven’t been lost on Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke and his colleagues, who pledged this week to hold interest rates at a record low through at least mid-2013. Officials said they “discussed the range of policy tools” to strengthen growth and are “prepared to employ these tools as appropriate.”

Teenager Practices In Extreme Heat Without Water For Ramadan
There is little question that the simmering threat of heat stroke remains a top concern of high school coaches and athletes (not to mention health professionals) across the country, with yet another teen falling prey to the extreme heat on Tuesday. For one teen in Florida, that threat is even more dire as he tries to cope with the religious restrictions of Ramadan, all while working through his first ever varsity football training camp.
Ahmed Elshaer is a rising sophomore at Wesley Chapel (Fla.) High. As first reported in a terrific story by the St. Petersburg Times' Matt Baker, he's also a devout Muslim, with his faith growing even stronger since he and his family emigrated to the United States from Saudi Arabia when he was 9. Soon thereafter, he began fasting during the holy month of Ramadan, a practice which requires him to reject all food and water from sunup to sundown.
The teenager insists that fasting during Ramadan is a keen part of his identity. In past years, Ramadan fasting kept Elshaer from joining football teams at all, for fear that he would struggle to handle practicing without food or water. Yet this year Elshaer decided to play for the Wesley Chapel varsity team, and his commitment to his faith hardly seems to have wavered, even as he works through his first ever training camp, in which he has emerged as a potential starter on the team's offensive line.
"Millions of people on earth don't have food or water," Elshaer told the St. Petersburg Times. "It puts you in their shoes. … "If [Minnesota Vikings safety Hussain Abdullah] can do it, I can do it.
"It's tough, but I've got to do it for my religion."

Jarvis, along with crowds of protesters, had taken to the streets to march in what was dubbed a SlutWalk. The march, organized by Jarvis and Sonya Barnett, was spurred by the comments of Toronto constable Michael Sanguinetti, who told a group of students in a safety class that women "should avoid dressing like sluts in order not to be victimized."
In response to the constable's remark — and the implication that women's actions, not the actions of rapists, lead to sexual assault — SlutWalk was born.

JERUSALEM — A dull-looking chart projected on the wall of a university office in Jerusalem displayed a revelation that would startle many readers of the Old Testament: The sacred text that people revered in the past was not the same one we study today.
An ancient version of one book has an extra phrase. Another appears to have been revised to retroactively insert a prophecy after the events happened.

Federal statistics reviewed by The Associated Press show that in 2010, just 227 passengers flew out of Ely while the airline got $1.8 million in subsidies. The travelers paid $70 to $90 for a one-way ticket. The cost to taxpayers for each ticket: $4,107.
Wounded Warrior Barracks At The Bethesda Naval Medical Center
A new world class hotel has opened in Bethesda. Injured war veterans joined military leaders to cut the ribbon at the Wounded Warrior Barracks at the Bethesda Naval Medical Center. Admiral Matt Nathan, commander of the National Naval Medical Center, called the new barracks world-class hotelling for the wounded. Patients from the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington will move to the new facilities over the next two weeks. The residential suites are specially equipped for those in wheelchairs or who have prosthetics. They also have queen-size beds, flat-screen TVs, online computers and kitchens.

A Multibillion Dollar Veterans Affairs IT Contract Is Under Seige
Days after IBM filed a protest with GAO, two more vendors have also filed protests. A third vendor sent a complaint to the Court of Federal Claims. The latest protestors are General Dynamics IT, Standard Communications and D&S Consultants. VA awarded contracts to 14 vendors in July under its Transformation 21 Total Technology program, or T-4, which has a $12 billion ceiling. However, despite the protests, sources told Federal News Radio that VA has already awarded non-competitive bids worth at least $65 million under T4. A VA spokesman said the awards are legal and routine.

TOLUCA, Mexico - Mexican police arrested the suspected leader of a brutal drug gang called "The Hand with Eyes" and he has confessed to helping carry out or ordering more than 600 murders, authorities said Thursday.
Oscar Osvaldo Garcia Montoya, 36, was arrested in an overnight raid on a presumed safe house on the outskirts of Mexico City, State of Mexico Attorney General Alfredo Castillo said at a news conference.
"The Hand with Eyes" is one of the groups blamed for bringing the drug violence typical of northern Mexico to Mexico City and its surrounding areas.

California Man Accused Of Trying To Break In To Prison
FOLSOM, Calif. (AP) - Most inmates are trying to get out of prison, but authorities say they caught a California parolee trying to sneak back in. Corrections Sgt. Tony Quinn says 48-year-old Marvin Lane Ussery was spotted late Wednesday night scaling the 7-foot tall, barbed wire-topped fence that encircles a large wooded area behind the California State Prison in Sacramento.
Quinn says Ussery served time at New Folsom for robbery before he was paroled in June 2009.

WASHINGTON - While the name of this international movement tends to raise eyebrows, its message is entirely serious.
The protests known as SlutWalks began in Toronto following a police officer's comment that women shouldn't dress like "sluts" if they want to avoid being raped or becoming victims of violence.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — People from El Salvador comprise a large portion of Maryland’s growing Hispanic community, census data released Thursday shows.
The U.S. Census Bureau data shows there are 123,789 people from the Central American nation who now live in Maryland, representing 2.1 percent of the state’s population. Hispanics now make up 8.2 percent of the state’s population.

Candice Kiley, 24, Arrested For Attacking 12-Year-Old For 'Looking At' Her Boyfriend: Cops
The suspect's boyfriend was in the kitchen cleaning up a spill when Kiley allegedly claimed the child had "been looking at him all day," police told the website.
A 24-year-old woman attacked a 12-year-old girl for "looking at" her 30-year-old boyfriend, according to investigators in Connecticut.
Police in North Branford arrested Candice Kiley for allegedly assaulting a victim who was half her age.
Law enforcement officials say Kiley lashed out at the 12-year-old during a family birthday party on July 23, according to NorthBranfordPatch.
Kiley then grabbed the girl by her hair and hurled her to the floor, investigators allege.
"She landed flat on her back, hitting the back of head on the floor," North Branford Police Department Lt. David D’Ancicco told The Register Citizen.

State Report Finds Casey Anthony 'Responsible' For Daughter's Death
(CNN) -- Casey Anthony is responsible for the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee, a report released Thursday by Florida's Department of Children and Families concludes.
A month after a jury acquitted Anthony on murder and child neglect charges, the state agency found that Anthony "is the caregiver responsible for the verified maltreatments of death, threatened harm and failure to protect" in her daughter's death.
Carrie Hoeppner, a spokeswoman for the Department of Children and Families, said the report was issued this week as a "professional courtesy" after the sheriff's office and prosecutors finished their work on the case.
Obama's Legal Duty To Create Jobs Now
The debate about the debt ceiling should have been a conversation about how to create jobs. It is time for progressives to remind the government that it has a legal duty to create jobs and must act immediately - if not through Congress, then through the Federal Reserve.
With official unemployment reaching over 9 percent, the unofficial rate in double digits and the unemployment rate for people of color more than double that of whites, it is nerve wracking to hear right-wing political pundits say the government cannot create jobs. Do people really believe this canard? On "Real Time with Bill Maher" a few weeks ago, Chris Hayes of The Nation stated that the government should create and has in the past created jobs, but he was put down by that intellectual giant Ann Coulter who said, "but they (WPA jobs) were only temporary jobs." No one challenged her.
Most of the jobs created under the Works Progress Administration (WPA) - and there were millions of them - lasted for many years, or until those employed found other gainful employment. They provided a high enough income to allow the worker's family to meet basic needs and they created demand for goods in an economy that was suffering, like today's economy, from lack of demand. The WPA program succeeded in sustaining and creating many more jobs in the private sector due to the demand for goods that more people with incomes generated.

IDENTITY OF MAN FOUND DEAD IN TRUCK RELEASED
(BELTSVILLE, MD) – After family notification has been made, Maryland State Police are releasing the name of the man who was found deceased in a truck yesterday morning on the shoulder of the Capital Beltway in Prince George’s County.
The man has been identified as Jon D. Thomas, 52, of New York, NY. After an examination today by the Office of Chief Medical Examiner, a cause of death has not officially been determined, pending toxicology test results. A heart attack remains under consideration as a cause of death.
Troopers were called to the outer loop of I-495, just before the northbound I-95 exit shortly before 9:00 a.m. yesterday, after a motorist reported seeing a man slumped over in a box truck parked on the shoulder. Troopers and county EMS personnel responded and found the man, later identified as Thomas, deceased at the scene.
Yesterday, investigators observed no visible signs of trauma on the victim’s body and found no evidence of foul play. The investigation is continuing.
