Justices reject challenge to 'In God We Trust' on U.S. money

The Supreme Court rejected a case Monday brought by an atheist who wanted to scrub “In God We Trust,” the U.S. motto, from the nation’s currency, claiming it was an entanglement of state and religion.

Michael Newdow, an activist who previous challenged reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in schools, had set his sights on money, but lost at the district, circuit and now Supreme Court levels.

On behalf of a group of atheists, Mr. Newdow argued America’s money lacked an reference to God until 1864, when it was added in. He said that amounted to an endorsement of religion.

At least someone has common sense in this day and age of progressive, socialist liberal fools.

We had better trust in something the money is about worthless.

Pay attention and mark my words, I'm looking at YOU Christians, there is wisdom in our founders penning the establishment clause.

You may enjoy a majority now, but that may not always be the case. You are setting dangerous precedent if any other religion comes to the forefront.

Jefferson coined the phrase "wall of separation between church and state"... it needs to be respected, as only a secular government can ensure religious freedom.

Hey dumb-a**, not only Christians believe in God, all "religions" do, except atheists, and they don't believe in anything. Our government and nation saying it believes and trusts in God, is not trying to establish any particular religion, Christian or otherwise. Our forefathers knew exactly what they were doing. They didn't want a Catholic , Christian, or Islamic government, or any other Theocracy for our government. "In God We Trust" does not endorse any particular religion, it embraces all religions. Our government is more secular than any other government in the world. You are blinded by your hate of any notion of a God. Your words show an ignorance of what the establishment clause is all about.

No "religion" is going to "come to the forefront" and say they don't believe in God. What are you, nuts?
