City Welcomes New Council Member
Salisbury – For the second time in two years, the Salisbury City Council was tasked with interviewing candidates to replace an outgoing Councilmember. This month-long process, as laid out in the charter, began with a call for letters of interest and resumes, and, after interviews and an internal vote, culminated this evening in the swearing in of R. Hardy Rudasill as the new representative of the City’s 5th District.
Mr. Rudasill, who has his Juris Doctor from the Illinois College of Law, brings a wealth of experience to the Council table, having worked for Senator Paul Sarbanes, the Upward Bound Program at the University of Maryland, the University of Illinois Law Library, Wor-Wic Community College, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and the Office of the Public Defender, to name just a few. Mr. Rudasill has served the community for the past two years as a member of the City’s Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals.
Mayor Jake Day, who, as Council President, encouraged Mr. Rudasill’s appointment to the Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals, said that the Council has made a very wise choice.
“I’m honored to congratulate Mr. Rudasill on his appointment to the Council,” said the Mayor. “His acumen is matched only by his desire to serve, and the breadth of experience he brings will be a great benefit to his constituents. I look forward to the positive work that this Council will continue to accomplish. I am also proud to see Muir Boda selected as the Council's new Vice President.”
