Weather Bulletin

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Wicomico County which is in effect from 6:00 AM Thursday March 5, 2015 until Midnight Thursday March 5, 2015.

*Hazards: Mix of sleet and snow then changing to all snow late Thursday morning through early Thursday evening.

* Accumulation: Snow and sleet accumulations expected to be 3 to 5 inches along with trace amounts of ice.

*Timing: Rain will mix with sleet by early Thursday morning. A transition to a snow sleet mix is expected by mid to late morning Thursday. Precipitation will become all snow by noon Thursday through early Thursday evening.

*Temperatures: Low 30’s dropping into the mid 20’s by early evening

*Winds: North 10 to 15 MPH with gusts to 25 MPH.

*Impacts: Roads will become snow covered by early afternoon Thursday. Visibilities will drop to around a quarter mile at times Thursday afternoon and early evening making travel dangerous.

Precautionary/Preparedness Actions: A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow sleet and ice are expected or occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

The DES is continuing to monitor the situation in conjunction with the National Weather Service. Additional Weather Bulletins will be issued if warranted.

thank god everyday that i am a PROUD teacher. NOW come on summer i need a beach break also

Yes!! Thank you tax payers!! Skiing on your dime!! And hopefully some of the days will be forgiven so we don't have to make them up. So it really will be a free paid day off!! And add more time to our summer vacation!! Yes!! So glad I am a teacher!
