I sure wish that the gov't had this mindset today. Rather, in this day's gov't mindset this sort of activity is getting citizens arrested or, at the extreme least, having these eggs destroyed. You can thank a Democrat for fostering the 'nanny state' mentality we have to endure. Somehow we have to get back to this way of life or perish as a free nation and become slaves to gov't and the 1%ers.
4:07PM Depending on when this poster was displayed in 1918 it could have been WW 1 was winding down or after November 11, 1918 had ended. I do agree, however, the war may have had something to do with this poster's appearance.

Actually had a flock about 8 yrs ago and am thinking about trying it again. Loved those fresh eggs!
This is really neat. I would love to have an original to frame and put in my kitchen.
As soon as you get the chickens, they'll tax the hell out of them!

12:22 - the gov't wants us to become slaves to them!
The democrats are particularly controlled by Big Business so therefore the "regulations" which eliminate most competition.
Lets see...refresher course...what else was going on in 1918 that would make Uncle Sam think people should keep chickens?

I hear ya'
Talking about the great swine flu which decimated pigs far and wide. Every body was looking for chickens because beef was too expensive (still is).
1918 was when the Henny Penny was first produced. Lots of demand for chicken back then.
If you see a dead bird it must be toxic air
And don't forget bees.We need a great big bee farm next to the new skate park.
