I used to give to the panhandlers until it came to light that they were fakers.
Now I give randomly to those who do not beg.
And that is how you should do it.
Stop giving to the fakers on the street holding signs.
This is the very opposite of greed. When corporations like Walmart's heirs pay their employees so little that they qualify for government subsidy, they are a drain on our system, as much as the people that just don't want to work.
Wow is right , Mmm , could be out looking for work. Ah , not during this administration. We will all be living on the grass very soon.
Check your "facts" before spewing. Walmart pays above minimum wage, plus benefits. Can restaurants say the same?
Not all Walmarts pay poorly. The one in North Dakota has been forced to pay $17 dollars an hour just so they can staff their stores. The economy is booming there. Don't believe me look it up.
4:02 exactly,the market there is booming so they have to increase wages to get workers unlike here where the economy is flat so people take what they can get.
All I can say is that I have lived here in Wicomico County all my life and I have never witnessed the shear number of homeless individuals like I have seen this past 2 years.
I think there's a bible story abut who gave more. the rich only give to make sure they are well rewarded for it. the middle class and the poor give even more to support those who have nothing. I'll give food but not money. I would never let a person starve but I won't fund a lifestyle! especially for drugs or alcohol.

There is no defense of Walmart and other large companies with huge profits that pay so little.
You may think you are getting an inexpensive product but the hidden costs are staggering. Contrary to popular belief the overwhelming majority of those who receive some type of government welfare benefit do work and most a large companies and corporations.
I am a 'right wing' conservative and I'm going to tell it like it is. The biggest sponges in the nation are large companies because the tax payers are subsidizing their employees and there is no excuse for it. It is estimated that 80% of those employed in the meat industry (chicken included) are on the government dole in at least one form most more.
Everyone around here gets all jazzed up saying how Perdue has given a lot of people a good living. Well you dopes for everyone one of those people there are 20 who are employed there who are living in poverty.
Perdue, Walmart etc are who you blame for falling home prices, high taxes etc. When the majority of the employees of the largest employers in an area make poverty level wages the whole economy suffers including falling home prices. You people act like it rocket science of something.

It took me 2 years to find a job and I was searching every day.
My income was around $60,000 per year. I found a job in 2012 , I now make around $15,000 per year.
I have no pity for those who beg when somewhere a job is available.
A permanent address, a car , a bike a place to take a bath,clean clothing ----these are the things needed for one to get a job unless they have someone help them get started.
True, some have a drug or alcohol
problem But some do not----Remember that the next time you see a homeless person---the least one can offer them is food!!!
