Resume:
Seaford, DE- The Delaware State Police have arrested a Seaford man after he led troopers on a short pursuit and threw logs of heroin from his car window.
Around 7:05 p.m. Thursday evening, a trooper on patrol in the area of Concord Road (SR20) and Oneals Road observed a GMC Envoy traveling northbound on Oneals Road fail to stop at the posted stop sign at the intersection with SR20. The vehicle turned eastbound and the trooper was able to perform a traffic stop shortly thereafter. Initial contact was made with the lone operator of the Envoy who was identified as Jarell Rodriguez and a computer check of his license revealed he was not valid. When the trooper returned to the driver’s side of the GMC to inform Rodriguez of the infraction, he sped away.
The trooper returned to his patrol vehicle and was able to catch up to the fleeing SUV and inform the Emergency Operation Center of the pursuit which traveled through various back roads east of Seaford. At two separate points during the pursuit, Rodriguez began throwing items out of the driver’s side window. The chase finally ended when Rodriguez pulled to a controlled stop on Laurel Road just west of Old Stage Road where he was taken into custody without further incident.
The items Rodriguez had thrown from the window were located and recovered by other officers and troopers assisting in the pursuit. The first item thrown was 2.5 logs of heroin which totaled more than 4.8 grams. The other item Rodriguez attempted to discard was multiple rounds of ammunitions placed inside a surgical glove. A search of the car also revealed 31 individually wrapped packages of heroin that weighed approximately .465 grams along with $435.00 in suspected drug proceeds found on Rodriguez.
Jarell Rodriguez was transported back to Troop 5 near Bridgeville where he was arrested for the above listed crimes. He was arraigned at JP3 and committed to SCI in lieu of $69,800.00 cash bond.

I know how much an 8 ball of coke is, how much is a "log" of heroin?
And now the NSA also knows that you know what what an 8 ball looks like...
