Driver Gets 3 Years In Fatal Accident

SALISBURY — A Pennsylvania woman, convicted in December of criminally negligent manslaughter and other charges for the death of her 11-year-old daughter during a motor vehicle accident on the Route 13 bypass in Salisbury in August 2012, was sentenced last week to three years in jail.

According to police reports, Dobrzynski appeared impaired at the crash scene and remembered little about the wreck. She was also confused about where she was going and where she was coming from. At first, she told police she was heading from West Virginia to Pennsylvania. When questioned further, she told police she was heading to Ocean City.

The investigation revealed Dobrzynski was under the influence of at least four different prescription medicines including vicodin, oxycodone, Prozac and soma, a common muscle relaxer. Some of the medicines on which Dobrzynski was on at the time of the crash were discovered at the crash scene in their appropriate prescription bottles, while others were not.

I witnessed this accident first-hand, only minutes after it occurred. Absolutely, one of the worst scenes I've ever come across. I'll never forget seeing all those little kids lying on the bank or trying to shield my own (very young) children's eyes from seeing the horror. 3 years doesn't seem like enough time for someone who knowingly took that many drugs & then drove her vehicle, killing that little girl.

No room at the Inn 11:47-One thing rings true;the heat of the moment cannot be re created adequately in a courtroom. In no way can evidence give those present the same gut wrenching feeling that you had when you came upon this sight.Nothing replaces physically being there.

I do not think that is a long enough to be served.

I agree this woman should be punished, but keep in mind, she has to live the rest of her life knowing that she killed her daughter through her reckless behavior. Regardless of whether she's in jail cell or elsewhere. It's a life sentence.

For people who aren't drug addicts that may be true 12:22...but after the accident she was caught in Pennsylvania in possession of prescription drugs...this accident didn't teach her anything..instead her daughter died for her selfishness...
