Nobel Peace Prize Auctioned For $1.16M In Maryland

A 1936 Nobel Peace Prize discovered at a South American pawn shop has been sold at auction in Baltimore for $1.16 million.

Brian Kendrella, president of New York-based Stack's Bowers Galleries, says the auction drew half a dozen bidders from six countries. The winning bidder Thursday was an individual collector from Asia who asked to remain anonymous.

The prize sold for a winning bid of $950,000 at auction, and an additional buyer's commission brought the final sale price to $1.16 million.

It used to be an honor to receive one of these, but since Obama won one for a good campaign while running for President, the award has lost it's creditability.

It's no longer worth the paper it's printed on, and if that's a picture of a piece of metal, well, scrap metal prices apply.

The whole Nobel thing has lost all credibility in the last few years.

If you ever won one, well you have nothing now.

A good campaign? I guess you forgot about the African thugs intimidating voters. What were they BLACK Panthers.

You are part of the problem.

Like anyone on Delmarva is in the running for nobel peace prize. Yeah, they gave Obama one, a mistake, but do you realize how many they give out each year for outstanding achievements in physics, chemistry and medicine? It is amazing how narrow minded you people are and you deserve everything you get (no jobs/high taxes/crime rate through the roof).

I would like to see Snowden get it.He was actually nominated,as was Putin. If anyone on Delmarva won a Nobel it wouldn't be a politician and it wouldn't be the Peace Prize.I wouldn't be surprised if Ben Carson was nominated for peace or medicine.Maybe he has been?

Scrap metal prices apply anymore, as the prize was given for basically groupie status. The potus/ pos is without clothes, and needs to be shot.
