The world has long since forgiven Julius Caesar. Nobody today finds Socrates or Cicero irritating. Few of us resent Alexander the Great or his tutor, Aristotle.
No, only one man in the ancient world is still hated after two millennia: Jesus Christ.
This does not in itself prove the divinity of Christ, but it does show that his words and example haven’t dated. They still have an amazing power to provoke hatred as well as adoration.
Of course the hatred of Christ usually pretends to be directed at side targets: St. Paul, the “institutional” Church, or, more vaguely, “organized religion” (as if religion would be all right if only it were a solitary activity). The cliché of the Christ-haters, including many “liberal” theologians, is that he was a “great moral teacher” who “never claimed divinity,” but that his “simple message of love” was “corrupted” by his followers.
But why would anyone want a man crucified for preaching an innocuous message of benevolence? Jesus was accused of blasphemy for equating himself with the Father: “I and the Father are one.” “No man comes to the Father but by me.” And if his claim were untrue, the charge of blasphemy would be fully justified.
People not only saw him after the Resurrection, many of them died under torture to bear witness to him. The martyrs were the principal human “media” of Christianity in its infancy, deeply impressing and finally converting others. Christ was “revealed” to the ancient world in the courageous love of his best disciples.

Jesus is the epitomy of what us christians wish to be and strive to be. I for one am a christian and I have no problem admitting it. I'm not perfect by any means, but Jesus always takes me back into his arms and gives me yet another chance.

How can you hate the man who saved us? He said "I am in the Father and the Father is in me". Amen
Never hate anyone who facilitated the biblical prophecy of Jesus'life on earth. The entire story was foretold. No one went to hell for enabling it to happen.
He is our savior for those who believe and no man comes to the father in heaven but through him. This life on earth is short but heaven is forever so store your treasures in heaven where they dont rust, rot and corrupt.
Amen
OMG SMH...bet you people poop rainbows and ride unicorns too.
no 12:42 I haven't tried that, but I am able to leap tall buildings in a single bound...
on a serious note, I pray you come to a place in your life that you will call on Jesus who shed His blood for all; including you.
Merry Christmas to all...
Pontious Pilate (sp?) Spellchecker don't know!
Anyway, He made him the bad guy compared to Barabbas! (wow, speller knew that one!)
Bottom line, He was hated then and put to death, and died for our sins, which we now try daily not to commit. There will always be "Punchus pilots, who will try to generate the same hate against our Savior, but we of faith know better. We try daily to be more like Jesus Christ.

It sounds like you are the one riding a unicorn, with the horn up you know where.
You religious people amuse me, following blindly an idea of someone exists in age old stories written by people who were taunted by religious zealots to do their biding. They are great stories no doubt but to believe one person created all of this is alittle far reaching.
No one said it was a person that created all this. Maybe that's why you cannot grasp it.

and 8:36 AM are the first Homo's that will be praying to God when one of their Muslim lovers pulls out a large blade knife and rapid saws through their throats while videotaping it for youtube. And it will happen right here in America.
