MANDELA DID NOT SPEND 27 YRS IN PRISON HE SPENT 17 OUT OF 27 WHY WON'T THE MEDIA GET THERE DAMN STORY AND NUMBERS CORRECT.
if any of us regular working people had committed the crimes he has against our constitution, we would certainly be in jail longer than that.

He was sentenced to life in 1964 and was released in 1990. That's closer to 27 than 17. I looked it up and found several references to this info. He should have spent life as he was a terrorist that had communist ties. This is also well documented.

Yeah- if mandela had spent life in prison the Republic wouldn't be the cess pool of crime and poverty it became due to him. It's just ignorant that people think he is a hero. He's a freak who murdered children.
most people think he spent time in prison for his role in a civil rights struggle, or whatever.
He spent time in prison, and got out early, for murder, bombings, terrorism and other bad things.
about the same as we made Bonnie and Clyde heroes, but they were killing criminals.
He was a sick minded individual and only the sick minded would ever hold such a person in high esteem. He's no better than Hitler. He cold bloodedly murdered his own people-peasants who refused to go on his murderous bombings and other terrorist exploits with him.
He refused to denounce his violence and that's why he wasn't released from prison.
Anyone who thinks is a hero needs to take a long look in the mirror and reassess their own values, morals and standards.

That's funny. You are accusing others of doing the exact thing YOU are doing. They shined him up and put lipstick on him, but he is still a pig at the end of the day.
You seem to be one of those who are told a certain thing long enough, and you believe it.
You can post his picture on your bedroom wall if you like, light a candle and pray to him like a saint.
But you just cannot whitewash the truth away. No matter how much you may dislike it.
Just start him off in jail tomorrow, and argue how long after that, PLEASE!
