Md. Spending $980,000 To Preserve Civil War Sites

FREDERICK, Md. - Gov. Martin O'Malley is awarding $980,000 to help preserve 150 acres of Civil War battlegrounds in Frederick County.

The Department of Natural Resources announced the funding Tuesday.

O'Malley says the private Civil War Trust will match the funds for a total of $1.96 million.

The Civil War Trust will acquire the seven properties and preserve them through conservation easements that restrict development.

let's get the unemployed off of welfare when they are able to work but won't. take away the incentives not to work. Food stamps also. Use the criminals to do the yard and road work like they did in the South. Try to run and risk getting shot. Then $980,000 is a drop in the bucket.
