If the person that has the chalk implement would like to find a nice home for it, I will see that it is displayed at the Riawakin School House at Pemberton Elementary School. I have looked for one for years. Please call me at (410) 749-1021. It is for the Wicomico Historical Society.
How many people would use a rock to pop those caps. I know I did. Those snakes from years ago seemed to last longer than the ones today. Odd how we forget about things from our childhood until we see a picture of them somewhere and it reminds us. Thanks Joe
The chalk device was also used by teachers to teach children how to write in cursive. That was back in the day when kids went to school and actually learned things, didn't beat their teachers up, impregnate their classmates, or carry an arsenal into school.
