The Use Of Pepper Spray Is Illegal

The use of pepper spray in war is banned by the Geneva Convention.

It is also illegal in the circumstances it was used in Seattle and Davis. As Daily Kos notes:
Non-violent protesters may sue police and the municipality of county that employs them under this Federal law, 42 United States Code Section 1983if they have been pepper sprayed while peacefully protesting, whether or not the protesters were arrested.

I don't know about anyone else, but if police are telling me to move along, I'm going to move along before I have to suffer consequences. If pepper spraying is against the law in this circumstance, the law should be enforced. If police are given an order to disperse a crowd, what method should they use if their orders are ignored?

I don't care what the media says they deserved and wanted to be sprayed.

Why don't they go to a park some where off the streets to protest?

ok... well in war, you can kill people who you think are the enimy! should we resort to that instead of the pepper spray? I have been sprayed 4 times, directly in the face and while it is one of the most painful 15 minutes of your life..... YOU DONT DIE and there are no lasting effects. listen to the rules and you typically dont get sprayed

You must be pretty hard headed. I would have changed my attitude after the first time being sprayed

Listen to the "rules". The rules this country was founded on, or the rules that the government currently enforces? You four idiots will probably be first in line to get food stamps and one roll of toilet paper alotted a week when our government turns into a dictatorship. Just because they tell you something doesn't make it true. Like there were WMD's in Iraq (still looking for those), like marijuana is bad for you but tobacco is completely fine to sell, or how about how the twin towers came down perfectly as if they were demolished when two planes hit them???? This doesn;t make sense to me.

You all can say what you want, but our generation is screwed. This is thanks to a poorly run country by previous careless generations. So please tell me what we should do? Just sit on our hands and take it as it comes or to stand up and let these people know that they are messing with lives and family? So sick of hearing the elder generations complain about Occupy Wall Street when they screwed us over from the get go/

Hmmm....good point 4:13. Very good point. Something must be done. The ballot box no longer works. This is the beginning. Soon the violence will be reciprocated. The numbers are in favor of "we the people". I wish things could be different but the ruling wealthy elite have made that impossible. What was it that JFK said?.. "Those who make peaceful revolution impossible, make violent revolution inevitable". The tea party was an attempt at peaceful revolution. After a long train of usurpations.....it leaves little choice.

YOU DONT DIE and there are no lasting effects.

You are an idiot and probably deserve to be sprayed every day. Read the article and you will find the lasting effects and the numbers of people killed from pepper spray. You will also find the F.B.I. agent who was bribed by pepper spray makers to allow it to be used.

I've heard of many international lawsuits to be filed against the government employees as well. This is gonna be a lawyer's dream and taxpayer's nightmare.
