GEORGETOWN — Sussex County officials are changing the way the county administers its $67 million pension fund by doing away with the current board and replacing it with a seven-member committee.
Sussex County Council also considered including a neutral third-party review of the investments. Councilman George Cole, R-Ocean View, called such a review another layer of scrutiny.
“There should be another way to look at pensions. We’ve done a great job, but in the future is this the best way to do it to protect the long-term financial interests of pensions?” Cole asked.
