The Daily Times Just Can't Compete

"Beginning today, you will notice a change to our commenting system. We will be are using Facebook Comments on articles to create a more civil environment for conversation, and to give everyone an easier way to share with their friends."

When you only tell a special interest side of stories, people get pissed off. Their comments were becoming so aggressive they had to find a way to stop them all together, so they went to Facebook.

Laura Mitchell and Jim Ireton are big users of Facebook.

Now they will have their own closed little society with the Daily Times and their Facebook friends.

The rest of the world (non-Facebook users) will be able to see their propaganda only.

Only in SalisBURY can you see such blatant abuse by a newspaper and politicians.

When's their next "public" meeting with Sarah Lake?

No one's even commenting on the Grapevine feature which is unusual. I'm dying to know which braintrust made the decision to switch the comment feature. The best part of the DT's was seeing what others opinions were on the articles.
The "civil" excuse is a hoot. They just want to see who is responsible for calling them out on their lies like the so called "public meeting" held by the New Dirty Dozen is all.

They are still deleting comments. I have posted 2 comments since they changed to Face Book and both are now gone.

The DT has basically eliminated all public input regarding their publication (I hesitate to call it a newspaper).

I hope all the DT's commenters come over hear. I've enjoyed alot of them and always want to hear their input.

They can't stand that most of the comments have been against them and puppet politicians.

1:15 is right! "Civil" is what Mitchell ran her campaign on.

They are trying to make "civility" a campaign issue again like they did for Dunn. Trying for another dream team by making life a living hell for the majority they hate.

When you hear anyone in Salisbury run on the platform of "civil," run like hell!

No they won't HAVE to do anything, 4:48. They just won't comment and that's exactly what it looks like they are doing.
That was the only reason alot of people even look at the DT's was to see the comments. Usually any "news" we have already seen on this site anyway.

I just read JT's comments on the DT's. Is that jerk for real? He says now people can't trade insults when that is all that is on his site! I remember how they insulted certain political figures when they couldn't find anything legitimate to bash them on, because they have inpeccable records so they started in on the name calling and personal attacks.
JT and his followers are the lowest of the low and decent people don't even want to breath the same air they breath!

Usually by this time of the morning I've gone to the DT's site atleast 1/2 dozen times. Not anymore. I'm done with them now between pulling Councilwoman Campbell's letter and now not allowing people to honestly state their true feelings in an anon forum is going way too far.
It is quite clear to me that they do not want their readers to know the truth.
