Hot Spot Cool Easts Partners With Dorchester Humane Society
Cambridge, MD - Hot Spot Cool Eats owner Eric Ploeg wanted to do something to help animals in Dorchester County, so his business donates a percentage of sales every week to the Dorchester Humane Society. The Dogs For Dogs program started in September and every Tuesday after 3pm, 10% of hot dog sales is donated to the society. Hot Spot Cool Eats is located at 3028 Ocean Gateway. “We’re animal lovers and wanted to help the less fortunate animals in our community,” said Mr. Ploeg. “We’re hoping people will make participating in our Dogs For Dogs program a weekly event so we can donate more to the homeless animals.” Animal lovers may also send donations to the Dorchester Humane Society at 4930 Bucktown Rd. I stopped into this place for a late lunch the other day. While I felt the price for 2 dogs was a bit high and the cook had problems preparing orders in parallel (like throwing the dogs on the griddle for order #2 when he was topping the dogs of order #1), I had an awesome, real Chicago Dog. I will consider stopping in next time I am passing through Cambridge at lunch.
What an awesome gesture.
