Salisbury News learned last week that PIO Officer Jim Fineran will retire his position in January of 2012. I was able to have a very pleasant conversation with Jim moments ago and he has in fact confirmed that he is vested with the County in January after 5 years and being in his mid 70's he's decided to stop punching a clock and spend more time with his Family. He stated he is not leaving/retiring for another job. Jim went on to say it's been great and he truly enjoyed his job.
In speaking to some other county officials I have learned Jim will enjoy around a $6,000.00 a year retirement salary with an 85% health insurance plan as well.

I believe that Jim is in his mid sixties.
Jim looks very good for his age.
I frankly don't care how old Jim is, Rick should have terminated him before he got vested. It just means we are going to pay for health insurance and pension for incompetence. Disgusting. And by the way, I like Jim as a person.
So Tricky Ricky carried two people until they did/could retire: Shea and Fineran. This is a joke! Shea was carried when he should've retired BEFORE any incentive to do so. Fineran has been a TOTAL WASTE of money for years! Rick needs to GO home too!
He doesn't punch a clock, he comes and goes at his on free will. This was just a big payoff for helping to get Pollitt elected, guess who will get the next big payoff.
the next big payoff will be sharon morris!! i know i would not want her overseeing my $1000.00 dollar checkbook let alone a 100 mill plus county taxpayer budget. another bad decision on pollitts part
This is outrageous -- impeach Slick Rick Pollitt now!
Wow, 85% insurance paid into retirement for five years of work for one employer. And I was very satisfied with 50% of mine paid after 32 years of service.
Remeber you all voted for him!! I surely didn't . LOL
And the public can't understand why "we the people" voted for the 2% cap? What a joke!
this was a simple good ol boy payoff...
Must be nice to be vested in 5 years and end up with a 500.00 a month pension AND paid health insurance!
Meanwhile, some of us work jobs we've been at for almost 10 years with no "vesting" and no health insurance even offered!
No wonder taxes are so high in Wicomico county!
