Today Downtown residents and business owners were surprised to see the delivery of several new trash cans on the Downtown Plaza.
However, a good part of the problem we have down here are those same businesses and residents dumping garbage bags into the trash cans and filling them overnight.
For what its worth, this is all at the expense of every single taxpayer who lives or does business in Salisbury. These tenants are supposed to take their trash to the dump but that's not what they do.
I take a truck into work at least twice a week and take our trash from 300 W. Main Street to the dump. The ONLY time you'll see Joe Albero putting anything into those trash cans is when I'm walking the Plaza and I pick trash up off the ground.
Perhaps the City can put locks on these cans so you can't lift the tops off.

Unfortunately, I don't think it will stop the problem. I think they will just set it next to it.
The City caused the problem.
They approved redev projects without considering trash removal. Now, they say they can't find sites for dumpsters. Sorry, City. That's not a good enough answer.
New trash receptacles are nice. But they're not a solution.
Oh yeah, when will the new receptacles be delivered for the rest of downtown?
Did the gal with the blue top throw her bag of trash in the barrel?
Another pic of the actual deed would have been appropriate here ;)
Does she look as good from the front? Man o man!
