Narrative: On 25 September 2011 at 11:52 PM, a deputy from the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office
responded to a domestic altercation at a residence in the 7400 block of Gumboro Road in Pittsville. Upon
arrival, the deputy met with a female victim who advised she had been assaulted by a former male
cohabitant, Christopher Cooper that had arrived intoxicated at her residence. When the deputy told
Cooper that it was time to leave, Cooper became belligerent to the deputy and refused to cooperate when
the deputy suggested that Cooper leave. After Cooper refused all requests by the resident and the deputy
to leave, the deputy attempted to place him under arrest for trespassing. Instead of submitting, Cooper
actively resisted and struggled against the deputy who then had to physically subdue Cooper.

Cooper was transported to the Central Booking Unit where he was processed and taken in front of the
District Court Commissioner. After an initial appearance, the Commissioner detained Cooper in the
Detention Center in lieu of $15,000.00 bond.
