$19.5M westbound project to be done by fall 2012
When was the last time you had a makeover? For the Bay Bridge, it's been a long time coming.The westbound span is finally getting its first new look after almost 40 years of wearing the same paint.
The $19.5 million project to repaint the westbound Bay Bridge its signature shade of gray began a few weeks ago. But commuters still can expect minimal delays. The majority of maintenance - set to be completed in fall 2012 - will be performed from the water to minimize its effect on traffic, Maryland Transportation Authority spokeswoman Teri Moss said.

well, I will just go ahead and say it...
Here in lies the newly raised toll tax... this will be one of the reason why they say they will need to raise the money charge even though it makes a surplus...
I just don't get it, how can you still want/need more money if your raking in more than you spend annually?

How convenient for them to give the bridge it's first makeover since 1973 and claim it will cost $19.5 Million dollars!!
