This is dismal news, pun intended, but with over 6 inches of rain in the last month, can't we lift our burn ban?

You may have had 6 inches of rain at your house, but summer showers are spotty and much of the Lower Shore is still in a severe drought.

There are active forest fires burning in at least the lower four counties on MD's Eastern Shore. One has been burning for over 11 days despite having been rained on 3 times. Conditions are dangerous, the ban is still needed.

Where do you live - we haven't had 6 inches of rain that I'm aware of. I live just South of Salisbury and North of the VA/MD state line.
