A deal has been reached to pave the way for Senate passage of a health bill to aid 9/11 first responders, according to a source close to the negotiations.
Some GOP senators, led by Tom Coburn, R-Okla., had been blocking quick passage of the bill over objections about its cost and the process by which the legislation passed through Congress.
But after negotiations led by New York Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, the impasse appears to have been broken, possibly setting up the last legislative action of the 111th Congress this afternoon.
It's now expected that no objections will be raised that could slow down or kill passage.
The bill must be approved by the House (which has remained in session in hopes of the chance to approve the measure) before going to the president for signing.

I would like to point out the obvious: 911 took place in 2001, less than a year after Dubya' took office.
This was delayed for 7/8 of Dubya's term and half of Barry's term.
Many of the 1st responders are now dead - as are all of the dogs involved in the search. The asbestos alone killed many people. The towers needed to come down because the asbestos remediation would have cost Silverstein millions of dollars in maintenance. The collapse of the towers was a "god-send" (who's god?) for Silverstein who was awarded over a billion dollars for his 100 million dollar "investment" in the twin towers just MONTHS before the event! Talk about good fortune - Larry Silverstein literally made out like a bandit as did the people who managed to seal 300 billion dollars worth of GOLD BULLION stored in the Federal Reserve Bank of one World Trade Tower. Keep in mind gold would have melted at worst - but to simply dissappear is very weird (criminal) in its implications. The event appears to have been a CRIME all along and was covered up as an "act of war" by non-State Sponsored and ever elusive terrorists who planned the event using lap top computers while hidden away in caves of the Afghanistan mountains.
Investigate 911 as a crime. Every American should demand that a proper investigation be done including the put options placed on the airline and insurance company stocks in the days prior to the event.
The fact is clear..........This would have never been accomplish if it were not for the "liberal" leaning left Jon Stewart. Fox News will trot out first responders all day to fight the mosque (which I agree should not be anywhere near ground zero), however they did not even touch this until Jon Stewart made it an issue. The right should be ashamed of themselves.
