Two Virginia Men Arrest For Transporting Drugs

Location: I-95 Southbound north of Churchman’s Road, New Castle, DE

Date of Occurrence: Wednesday August 4, 2010 at 4:25 a.m.

Defendants:

Christopher P. Harley, 18, Centreville, VA
Christopher Lancaster, 23, Manassas, VA

Vehicle:

2009 Kia Rio

Charges:

Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana
Maintaining a Vehicle for Keeping Drugs
Possession of Marijuana
Conspiracy Second Degree


Resume: Delaware State Police have arrested two Virginian man after they were found to be in possession of approximately 2 pounds of marijuana.

The incident occurred early this morning as a trooper on routing patrol stopped a 1999 Kia Rio for speeding on I-95 southbound in the area of Churchman’s Road, New Castle. After stopping the vehicle, the trooper made contact with the driver, Christopher Harley, and was advised that the vehicle had been rented by his girlfriend who was not present in the car. As the trooper attempted to locate the rental agreement for the car, he located a plastic bag containing marijuana in the vehicle’s glove box. A further search of the car revealed a second plastic bag containing marijuana on the rear floorboard and two more bags in the vehicle’s trunk. The total weight of the marijuana was approximately two pounds. Both Christopher Harley and a passenger, Christopher Lancaster, were arrested on the above listed charges. The driver, Christopher Harley was charged with speeding as well. Harley was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Henry Young Prison for lack of $4501.00 secured bail. Christopher Lancaster was also arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to the Henry Young Prison for lack of $4500.00 secured bail.

You shouldnt call them criminals. Were talking about two kids that got caught disobeying a law that doesn't make a lot of sense. There is no real foundation to marijuana prohibition, yet those that decide not to follow it face incarceration and public humiliation

dont call these people criminals they are good people worry about your own problems they are both probably a lot smarter than us they just had a mistake in their life and i guarantee they will learn quickly from this

We live in a sad country were two young adults can be sent to jail for possessing some plants. What is this country coming to when murderers and rapists get off in the same amount of jail time as someone who possesses marijuana. Our whole system needs to be rethought. When will this corrupt country begin to realize that marijuana should not be classified in the same category as cocaine and heroin.
